Arctic Spas Regina

Well I removed my last post as part of a deal with the distributer in Regina. We had nothing but issues with the Tundra we purchased in Oct 2023, they were not going to continue to try fix it in the end unless I removed my original review. The only way for us to get any attention on the seriousness of the sanitization issues was to create a review. Unfortunately, here we are at almost 1 year of owning the tundra with spaboy… it continued to have issues and has cost us on the tub itself and in over 1600 gallons of water wasted, heating (electrical costs), and chemicals from being directed to empty it so they could attempt different fixes or as result of un sanitized water for extended period. There was also significant costs related to constant water testing for us to prove it wasn’t our water. The main issue is the tundra was not able to maintain sanitization at all. In the end they agreed to replace the tub, the email clearly stated exact same, what the manufacture and Regina distributer decided was let’s do an experimental modification on the new tub we are sending and not inform them since they wouldn’t let us cut holes in their last tub for us to experiment with new probe locations in attempts to get the system to sanitize. With what the tub cost, we were not ok with draining again to now cut holes into it. The new replacement tub we have now won’t sanitize even in manual mode which we were able to at least use on the original tub. Yes, they were all great when we first got the tub also… until it started having major issues including pump one failing in 5 months, leaks from cup rest spot causing corrosion on components inside the tub, over sanitization multiple times from them adjusting at will and having us use chlorinated products not recommended by the manufacturer, heating issues, and we were provided an old used cover for the first 5 months we had the tub… not clipped down to prevent heat leaks. About a dozen jets within the tub corroded as well, but mainly due to sanitization not being maintained by the system a lot of water and chemicals were wasted. I also had to invest in professional grade test methods as they actually tried to insist it was our water not the tub, then they questioned my professional test methods like I didn’t know what I was doing. In the end they came out with a 10$ test kit you buy at Canadian tire and as well seen no sanitization, all while the system says it’s perfectly fine. Yet dangerous to use with either no sanitization or a dangerous amount over 10ppm. We are currently trying to obtain a full refund due to the amount of issues and the fact that when they agreed to replace the defective tub they sent us a one off modified tub that had not been tested to ensure the modification would work. It didn’t, we are now on day 4 of it not sanitizing as we wait for their technician to try make it somehow work. We know it won’t because with the original tub, we hung their probe in that location and the tub failed to sanitize, they were aware of this and still put their probe in that location on the modified tub sent specific for us. The new tub also came with the headrest all crooked due to the posts not being mounted in straight. All and all, our experience has been a truly costly nightmare and never again will we ever deal with arctic spas in the future. To replace our tub with a specifically modified and untested tub was the last straw for us. Buyer beware, roll of the dice when dealing with arctic spas. The attached photo shows no chlorine on the new tub also which was sent to arctic spas. They responded to me saying it looks like it’s at 0.5ppm… I’m sorry but there isn’t even color for it to be at 0.2 CL never mind 0.5 all while the app says it’s perfectly safe. UPDATE: refund for tub only granted, now we wait for that to take place.
Update: We were finally contacted (after this review was left) and an appointment was booked. We planned on updating this review after we received service from Artic Spas at the end of this month. They contacted us today asking us to remove this review. When we said we would after we had received service, they cancelled our appointment and said that they will not provide service to us now or in the future. We have been really frustrated with the service at Arctic Spas. We recently moved and our new house has a hot tub. We have never owned one before and approached Arctic Spas for a service call to help show us how to maintain it and also deal with a problem (we had been given their contact information by the previous owners). We have been told we are getting a call back numerous times with zero follow up. We have had to constantly contact them (both in person and via phone) and have had minimal to no response. We have been in our house for a month now trying to get some assistance and are still waiting for someone to contact us to book an appointment after multiple attempts. It’s been very disappointing.
Ordered a custom hot tub from Steve back at the end of October 2020. The tub arrived from the manufacturer ahead of schedule at the end of January. From the first time I phoned the store, to visiting in person, then getting the tub delivered the service has been top drawer. As a first time hot tub I’ve had lots of questions. Steve was always available to answer them for me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sunset Bay if you are looking for a hot tub. Also, the tub I got has been great too. My family and I really enjoy it. Thanks to everyone at Sunset Bay for a great experience!
This is our first time owning a hot tub and the service that we have received from Steve and staff have been amazing. They are always there to guide you through everything and take the time to explain. Steve always give honest advice and will never sell you something that you do not need for your spa. I would also recommend to spend the extra money on the SpaBoy System as it makes maintenance hands free and easy. Overall, I would highly recommend a arctic spa for your family you will not regret it!
I absolutely love my Arctic Spa. I live in Saskatchewan where it is brutally cold. My spa keeps up with extreme temps no problem. The tub is so comfortable and I just love using. The store in Regina is really nice and the staff are top notch. Steve helped me every step of the way and made the entire process so smooth. I appreciated his continuing support. The front desk person also very friendly and nice. I am 100 percent happy I chose Arctic spa.
