Upon my arrival i was shocked to learn hat we had to "rent sandals" that are mandatory to wear...at these prices they should sanitize re-use and provide them for their guests they also didnt have any size past 8. We got pointed to the hallway where we had to find the change room on our own, figure out how to work the lockers that also required some weird coin to be put through the dispenser each time you access it. we didnt get shown the saunas or steam directions very well either we wondered around like where do we go???? when i got in my towels were SO THIN like my dish towels are thicker, seemed cheap. my housecoat was broken and they sewed your pockets shut so i carried this clunky key chain around with me. VERY annoying. there was even one stem room which was the BEST that we almost missed because we were never shown around. I got a Eucalyptus cold towel once then the basket was gone for two hours never saw it again....there is SO much potential here but things got missed. I do however want to comment on the cleanliness of each room and how amazing each room felt, Our massages were incredible however id opt out of the facial i came home and used a cleansing pad and the whole pad was black after my facial i felt heavy residue all over my face she kept rubbing my fake eye lashes when i said please dont touch them i did not like how small the hole was for your face in those face cushions. the hole for my whole face was the size of a mini donut so my eyelashes hurt and pricked me and i couldn't breathe! I did really enjoy the practitioner she was lovely and did a wonderful massage afterwards they covered us in warm blankets in the relax room after our service and gave us wine! lots of nice touches but lots of room for improvement, id never pay their full price though ill only come back on a promotion. I hope to see some improvements next time i come.

We had an exceptional experience with the Russian Banya Ritual at the Art of Sauna in Burnaby—my husband and I both left feeling completely renewed. From start to finish, the ritual was thoughtfully curated and deeply restorative. Svetlana is an outstanding practitioner: highly skilled, intuitive, and fully present throughout the entire session. Her command of traditional techniques, combined with a refined sensitivity to pacing and comfort, made the experience feel both authentic and personal. There was an excellent balance between the high-heat environment, intentional cooling breaks, and the invigorating challenge of the cold bucket, which was both refreshing and energizing. Every detail was handled with care: the heat cycles, the precise use of the oak branches, the seamless transitions, and the overall flow of the ritual. The drum ritual added a powerful, grounding dimension that elevated the experience well beyond a standard sauna session. The sea buckthorn tea was a perfect finishing touch—warming, nourishing, and beautifully timed. What truly sets this ritual apart is the level of service and energy Svetlana brings. Her calm focus, attentiveness, and respect for the tradition create a sense of trust and immersion that is rare. This was not just a sauna visit, but a complete mind-body reset for both of us. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic Russian banya experience delivered at an exceptional standard.

I recently visited Art of Sauna and had a very pleasant experience overall. The space is spacious, well organized, and offers a wide variety of sauna options, including a Russian banya, eucalyptus sauna, dry sauna, salt room, and a few other sauna experiences that I don’t remember by name. The variety really makes it feel like a full wellness destination rather than just a sauna. The facility is very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Everything feels well maintained, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The staff are extremely polite, professional, and attentive, which makes the experience even better. One highlight worth mentioning is the Russian banya experience. You can book an additional experience treatment with traditional Russian venik (birch broom) steaming. It is available for an extra fee, but as a unique wellness experience, it’s a lovely and worthwhile addition, especially for those who want to try something authentic. The only small improvement I would suggest is providing slippers and bathrobes for guests. That said, there is a very generous supply of towels available, so there is absolutely no need to bring your own. Another nice touch is the wide selection of skincare products displayed in the reception area, which adds to the overall spa and wellness atmosphere. Overall, this is a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and recharge. I would definitely visit again.

I've been trying to find a spa that offers RMT massages and this place is fantastic! Moving from Quebec (big spa culture), it has been a challenge finding spas that even offer RMT massages at all. So was super pleased to find this place as you can book RMT and then add on time at the steam rooms/ saunas. Love that it's all a circuit and you can move from room to room easily. You get robes upon booking a treatment, and it's standard practice to require guests to bring their own flip flops (way better than one-time use shoes/reusing shared footwear lol). Overall it is very clean, and each steam/sauna is it's own experience which is fun. I go to Shummy for my RMT treatments and he is amazing! He is very communicative and really caters the session to my needs. 10/10. Can't say enough good things about this place!

My husband gave me a Mini Awakening package that included 2hrs of sauna time for Valentine's and I had an amazing experience. The facility was clean and well kept. The showers had shampoo, conditioner and body wash for after using the saunas and treatment. There were plenty of towels to use. After enjoying 2hrs of leisurely using the saunas, I went for my Mini Awakening treatment with the esthetician, Maria, who was wonderful and always explained what she was going to do next. My skin felt amazing after the treatment. I will definitely return to use the saunas and book another treatment with Maria.
