Chalk Lake Spring Water

Guess I'm a rebel because I drank the water after reading the signs. The paved parking area is roomy and in good condition. The warning signs are prominent and explicit. But the water is cool and clear, and to me it tastes clean and natural. I usually drink Toronto's municipal tap water which the city says is safe and have no problem with that and, on the other hand, have no issue drinking this water every time I am in the area. You a rebel too?

I have been drinking this water for over 2 years now, and it happened once that I was left without it for about one week. I had to drink tap water or bottle water. I am not sure if it is placebo but that week I started to feel fuzzy and irritated. I guess this water got me addicted to it. 😀 I would even move closer just to have access to it all the time. I also love that the Hy Hope farm is 1 minute away too.

UPDATE: it is reopened!🥳 Durham regional government has attempted to stop access to the water with these barricades!! This is what we faced when we arrived today. Needed to have small bottles to fill or bring a hose with a female union 3/4 or 1”. I can’t believe the spring was barricaded with no signage or explanation whatsoever 😡 Don’t let big government stop you from getting your clean water.

Just visited here recently and the springs are open even with construction. Although there is a new sign advising not to drink the water, beside the public warning to, drink at your own risk. I've known many people to come here for water, and many people were there when I went filling up their bottles and jugs. I think it's probably safer to drink than the city tap water if you ask me 😂

My wife used to swear by this water.... then, at her annual physical, the doctor asked if she had been travelling overseas. She hadn't and found this an odd question until the doctor advised that she had many parasites in her blood. She underwent a protocol to remove them and stopped drinking this unfiltered water. She has been fine ever since.
