Cole Harbour Place

Here is an honest 1 star review for all to see.. this is the customer service I get after registering my son for summer camp at Cole Harbour Place. The camp was not for him and I requested a refund as per their policy. I have yet to get my money refunded and I've been in there 3 times already in the last week alone. Very unprofessional and not a good environment to leave your kids. Try it and ask your kids how the day went.. but when you ask for your money back expect a long wait. Abbey is supposed to be in a position of power and I don't see how she is competent in her duties at that facility. The counter staff laughed in agreement as well. They did their job and I did mine.. for some reason she asked me my availability and then 2 minutes later I can't get it? Ridiculous Enjoy the photos of our emailed conversations. Cole harbour Rec center is way better for the kids and parents a like. If you see my review please skip this place. Edit done August 28, 2024: I just got my cheque today. 4 weeks after I asked for my money back. While leaving the building I noticed a bunch of unattended chemicals left by the public stairs. These chemicals are for industrial flooring and surfaces of concrete. They are just sitting by the stairs for kids or anyone to play with. Not a good spot to leave your kids in this building and clearly not a good place to spend money.

The facility is dated and requires attention across several key areas: 1. Security and Access: The lack of on-site security has resulted in the restrooms and the main rear parking lot entrance doors being locked due to repeated non-patron disturbances. 2. Safety Hazard: There is a levelling issue and trip hazard on the flooring located near the dance studio. This needs urgent structural assessment. 3. Vending: The vending machines are rarely functional. 4. Amenities: We need more standard-height tables and chairs for waiting parents near the Stewart Hall area, replacing the single, impractical high-top table. A special note of commendation for the cleaning crew, whose work is consistently excellent.

Cole Harbour Place has become a shell of what it once was. Unless you have free time during the days, only the gym is of real use. Even that is aging and somewhat of a bust. The pool schedules after4PM weekdays is very disappointing, and the open skate options are near non-existent. In the past their were evening options for members and adults, now it is all extremely limited. Overall, the cost vs. benefits just isn't worth it. Go to Goodlife or Zatsman Sportsplex. Much better value. Again, very sad to see what this once great community centre has become.

It is a great place for weekend activities such as hockey, ringette, the libary, and random events such as cat shows and job fairs. I usually come during the weekend and avoid the weekdays. During the week, it can be super busy with the local school students. I never had a problem with the local youth despite some of the other reviews. It would be nice if there were more bus routes around, though.

Swimming lesson system is terrible. Folks are holding spots for certain parents, the system is rigged. When the issue was brought forward to the general manager and its operation team, it felt like management dismissed the concern and treated it as if it were normal, while the person raising the concern was somehow in the wrong for calling it out.
