Geos Spa Sacacomie

Long zigzagging walk to arrive at the spa from Sacacomie hotel entrance, but you feel zen upon arrival. Staff is nice, and massage therapists are good. Bathrobe is provided and you can exchange wet towels for dry ones at no cost. Lockers also available. Great place to relax in nature with breathtaking view. Unfortunately, when my husband and I went there was a dead frog in the filter of one of the hot tubs, a sauna was out of order, and the shower in the steam room also wasn't working. We still enjoyed the fresh air, song of the birds, fire pit and other relaxation areas as well as the working installations. We stayed longer than anticipated. Note, there are signs everywhere to encourage complete silence but its not enforced. I personally don't care if people whisper at spas from time to time. I am guilty of doing that when I am trying to tell my husband where I am going next or that its time for our massages. I hate spas that give you warnings just because they see your lips moving from far away. This spa might be too chill about their silence rule though. Groups there were talking really loud and laughing. Staff did not ask them to be quieter. The other downfall was that no food whatsoever could be consumed on sight. Strawberry water was provided, but nowhere to even buy snacks to eat in a designed area. (Restaurant at the hotel, far from the spa area, has fine dinning only.) If staying at the hotel and you want to enjoy a day of pampering, I recommend getting a promo package that includes time at the spa. I personally would not chose that specific spa if not staying at the hotel because its out of the way.

The hotel is located in a natural setting. The rooms are spacious and offer a small terrace with wildlife such as squirrels or raccoons. If you're unlucky like us, the terraces are close together, and we had a view of a small building/parking lot. The breakfast is very good but a bit pricey at $30 per person, and you must reserve a specific time. The hotel also boasts a beautiful little beach where you can relax and enjoy the lake. The free kayaking activity is an added bonus, allowing you to explore the peaceful lake at your own pace (arrive before 10 a.m. because after that, you won't have anything to eat). The room doesn't have air conditioning, which can be a drawback in hot weather. The soundproofing is very poor, the bed creaks, and you can hear everything from your neighbors. There's no refrigerator, so it's difficult to make sandwiches or eat freshly made food. There are no restaurants within 15 minutes, except the hotel has very expensive prices. I think this is intentional. No television (that's not why we came, but still). Curtains aren't big enough, so they open at 4:00 a.m. Furthermore, hot water isn't available until 8-9 a.m., which can be a hassle if you're used to taking an early shower. The beach is 400-500 meters away, with many steps that are quite tiring after a day of kayaking/hiking, and not suitable for children or people with limited mobility. The receptionist isn't very friendly, and you feel like you're intruding when you ask questions, especially if you don't have their spa and dining package. Ultimately, disappointed for the price and for a supposedly 4-star hotel.

I visited the Geo Spa for the first time with my boyfriend. It's my sixth spa visit. I found it to be excellent value for money. It's rare to find everything in one place: accommodation, restaurant, spa, and massage therapy in such a paradisiacal setting. My rating only concerns the spa. Frankly, if I had relied on the reviews, I wouldn't have gone. After experiencing it, I realize how easily people can ruin a reputation over trivial and uncontrollable details. We went on a Friday. There were about a dozen of us. The welcome was very pleasant and professional. Towels can be changed as needed. The women's changing room was clean. Nothing was missing: soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, bottled water, and unlimited water and lemon water. There's an indoor pool, a waterfall and cold plunge pool, a steam room, two dry saunas (one hotter), and a relaxation area with an outdoor fireplace. Two hot tubs. Heated concrete walkway. Breathtaking view of Lake Sacacomie. Yes, some people complain, but the blame lies with them, not the company. For access at a third of the price of other places, it's simply perfect! If you like a rustic and welcoming setting, you'll be charmed!

The site is magnificent, with a beautiful view. The hot and steam saunas are very nice. However, the experience in the two hot tubs is extremely disappointing. Several users talk loudly, disregarding the rule of silence. And this isn't an isolated incident. So, if you want to get some fresh air, it's fine, but if you desire quiet relaxation, go elsewhere. There is no supervision on the premises. Even though cell phones are prohibited, some people take selfies in the spa and in the walkways. The relaxation room after the hot-cold cycle is uninviting. There's only one lounge chair, and the rest are straight wicker chairs. We preferred to walk right past them. The spa is in an exceptional location, but it's a bit of a free-for-all, and the rules aren't respected. This is our second stay here, but we are disappointed with the spa relaxation experience. The site is wonderful but at this price we will go elsewhere where it is better "structured" and where the spa relaxation facilities are more comfortable.

The spa is okay, but nothing special. Not much choice, and the equipment is outdated. And the rooms... It's probably the least comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We were more sore all over when we left the next morning than when we arrived. For a relaxing stay, it was a bit of a letdown! The reception was great. The staff is very kind and accommodating. We didn't have a refrigerator in our room, and we had things to keep cold. We were offered another room that had a refrigerator, which was actually much better and bigger. Even so, the mattresses... really need replacing!
