This place is getting a bad review because of misdirection. I reserved the TOTAL package which is 170$. This includes body clay mask, a scrub that takes off dead skin, another type of mask, a full shampoo with head massage, and a lymphatic massage, it was all done in a very clean sauna room. We were told to bring flip-flops, bathing suit and towel. The owners wife took care of 4 of us. There was only one person to do the service for 4 people so the wait was long. She was great, very nice and we admired her energy since she's working physically in a sauna and doing this to 4 people without a break (we actually suggested that she shouldn't be alone since it's long for the people waiting). While she was giving us her services we asked her is she had studied here (Montreal) for her massage therapy and she said yes, she confirmed she was certified. When doing the reservation, I verbally confirmed if the person giving the service was giving a receipt for insurance since there is a lymphatic massage and I was told yes. To our surprise we were charged 15$ extra for the scrub glove (which we thought was included in the 170$ since no one told us to bring one), then the lady gives us this bogus receipt with some kind of code, supposedly her certification code which was refused by all or our insurances. They even told us that we should not put as massage, but "well being" in the claim?! Had we known that it wasn't covered by our insurance we would have only taken the spa/sauna experience and gotten a real massage somewhere else where we can get reimbursed by our insurance. This was out first time, we didn't know what a hammam was, we were expecting a professional service which we didn't get. I do not recommend if you think you're going to a professional spa.

The lady ( wife of the owner ) is impolite.i called for checking when they open as it says open at 10 but passed 10:30 and not yet open .she said that you have to book appointments. I said ok but you have to announce for that as it's not as usual I came several times and I have never booked in advance plus it's always embty. She answered rudely that I was lying and that the routine had not changed for years and that the Hammam was always crowded ,she said that she can't understand me as I'm talking in Algerian and I have to talk in French as I'm in Quebec ( I don't know why she mentioned this ) she hung up on me rudely and ill-manneredly . I NEVER recommend this place EVER . I was shocked as it's the first time I meet Moroccan women behaves like her since I came 30 years ago to Canada. Don't waste time or money for unwelcoming ,rude , impolite behave

For Moroccan Hammam first timer: -Bring your own amenity bag, towel, sandals, shampoos, conditioners, and body soap. -Leave your clothes in the locker and bring everything you need to the Hammam. -If you don't have a scrubbing glove. You can purchase one in the store. -Once you booked a private room + scrubbing. The store will offer you a black soup. -The scrubbing from technician is about 15minutes per person. Extremely relaxing and comfortable. -Make sure to stay hydrate. -Dryer is available at the Hammam resting area Thank you for this wonderful experience! We will come back again.

I came from Orlando, Fl visiting family and came to Hammam Tahar one night and I can confidently say this was by far the best hammam experience I’ve had outside of Morocco where I am used to going in and out of them thinking I’ve seen the best. Excellent customer service and professionalism. Highly recommend 100%. Will be back for sure anytime I am in Quebec.
