Huma Spa

I have been here many times, and to be fare, I have always had a great time. It's a great little spa, usually quiet, and quite reasonable in terms of pricing. So why 2 stars? Well, my wife treated me to a birthday massage at Huma Spa. I was quite excited as I really was in need of a good message. While our time in the spa was good, it's my massage that was problematic. First, the masseuse (her name was Ndoumbe) did not even introduce herself (I actually found out her name only on the tip card she left). She was on her phone as she walked out to get me. She never said anything to me other than where to put my stuff in the room and how strong I wanted my massage. Nothing else (no greeting, no essential oils, nothing). Now, the worst, and most serious thing, and the reason for my 2 star: I wrote on the paper they make you fill out before the massage that I had pain in my right foot and for them not to touch it (seriously said not to touch it). She clearly did not care as during the massage, she grabed my right foot, applied a huge amount of pressure to top part of my foot, and massage it. This caused me so much pain, I even responded with a sound of pain which did nothing. Before the massage, my fractured foot had been better and almost no more pain. Since my massage, my right foot has been in pain for over a week now. All that resting for nothing. Imagine, I came here to relax, to get a massage, paid 140$, and came out in pain. All this while my wife's masseuse who was in the same room gave her (my wife) lots of attention and even talked to me as clearly she could see that my masseuse did not care one bit. After my massage, I mentioned the situation to the front desk agent (who was very nice and professional). While nice, she essentially said that she would leave a note on my dossier and make sure I never get this masseuse again. Look, this is serious. Legal action could be taken for something like this. I am in pain and depend on my foot for my work. All I am told is: you won't get her next time? Why would I ever spend another dollar here? I expected more of a serious response. To think I have recommended this place to everyone. I can no longuer recommend this spa knowing that safety and the wellbeing of their guests is not taken seriously. Update: Humas has contacted me and offeres incredible customer service. I have updated my review to 4 stars and they are reviewing the situation and taking this seriously. Thank you

Huma Spa may not be the biggest spa in Quebec, but it offers a surprisingly well-rounded experience. One of its biggest strengths is the calm and peaceful atmosphere — it’s never overcrowded, which allows for a more relaxing day. Despite its modest size, the spa provides a good variety of baths, relaxation areas, and therapeutic zones. They also offer complimentary fruits and a nice selection of herbal teas — all of which were delicious. On the downside, the staff's enforcement of the rules can be inconsistent. Some team members use common sense and are discreet, while others are overly strict and rigid, which made parts of the experience feel unnecessarily stressful. I stayed the entire day, and the shift change between the daytime and evening staff was very noticeable in terms of attitude. Another drawback is the food situation. There is no full restaurant on-site. They used to allow Thai food delivery, which was great, but now it's replaced by “Olivia,” offering only light snacks like soups and salads — not even sandwiches, which feels like a bare minimum for a full-day visit. Thankfully, they allowed us to bring wraps with skewers, cheese, olives, and grapes, which made things more bearable. Still, for guests staying the whole day, better food options would be a welcome improvement. That said, I would still recommend Huma Spa over places like Spa Nordic. Despite some areas that need adjustments, the overall experience was enjoyable and worth it.

We have been a few times, sometimes just massage, sometimes just access to the baths, and sometimes both! We love it. VERY QUIET. They really enforce it. Lots of comfy places to relax and read. Good selection of pools. It is small, but less hectic than the larger spas for sure. They have a cute store, and huge change rooms. The price is respectable. Great location. Only one time did guests have their phones, and they were being sneaky. I do think it could have a little improvement: it is not clear how to order the food or drinks. I would love to order a smoothie or salad, but I never know who to ask or how to pay for it. - Some of the massage therapists use very little oil. - It would be nice to be able to create an online account and modify your own reservation. I have wanted to cancel or change my arrival time in the past, and while you can book online, you have to call in for any changes.

I have been coming to huma since it first opened and have nothing but positive things to say. Staff are always happy to help and answer any questions you may have. Facility is extremely clean and I consider myself to be a neat freak. Silence policy respected by staff and most customers. The no phone policy is a big one, my wife feels more comfortable coming here with me knowing people aren’t being creeps. Only thing I wish for is that you guys have more treatments available on the weekends, I had my first facial today as I was off of work and able to come in on a Wednesday, and it was amazing. I would get a treatment every time if available. Keep up the great work Huma team!

My friend and I were trying to go to Koena spa the other day, but it was at capacity, so after a quick google search we discovered Huma Spa only a few minutes down the road from Koena. It was such a lovely experience and we're so happy we discovered this place! Not too busy, a great variety of pools, relaxation areas, and saunas, and free snacks and drinks! Clean, lots of towels and robes included in the cost, and the soap and shampoo in the showers made my hair and skin so soft! We feel like we discovered such a gem! We will definitely be back!
