Lussier Hot Springs

Unique experience to soak yourself in the completely natural environment The Lussier Hot Springs is now a well known travel spot, it used to be only locally known but nowadays people travel there from afar thanks to social media. Located in the BC Whiteswan Lake Park, the drive up to the Lussier hot springs is absolutely stunning, meandering road through some really old BC forests. However as you come off BC 93/95S, the service road is a 36 KM round trip gravel road with many potholes at this time of the year. We actually had a flat tire on our way out. The road was very bumpy and slippery, we had a Ford Expedition but I actually saw people with small sedans driving to the hot springs. The facility is bare minimal, a parking along the river bank, 2 small pit toilets, a trail going down to the river. You should wear your normal shoes going down to the hot spring and maybe bring some slippers or just stay bare feet. The hot springs do smell of sulphur (rotten eggs), and the smell lingers on your hair and clothes, my teens didn’t like that but we didn’t mind it at all. It makes the skin smooth and moist. The hottest pool is the one closest to the mountain, water temperature is at least 40 degrees. Many people brought drinks and alcohol to the hot springs, a few had visible signs of being intoxicated. We did not see a single park staff on site. This location is completely free. There is no network service in this location, be prepared for any unexpected situations driving on the service road.

Beautiful setting. Hot water runs out of the cliff and into one pool about the size of a large hot tub. That pool goes into another pool that has warm and cold spots as cold river water is flowing in as well. Easy parking, easy walk down. It was not a very large spot, but everyone was friendly and traded off in the hot pool. If you're in the area and like an all natural hot springs to soak, this is the spot. Very clear blue water. About a 30-minute drive in on a gravel road from the Hwy 93 side. Easy to find.

It was my First time ever seeing any natural hot springs and it was worth the drive. *It’s a long drive from Calgary but totally worth it. Last 10-12 km is off road drive which bit scary in winter and if you don’t have proper winter tires then avoid going here. No network coverage on this road so just be careful. *There are 4 to 5 small ponds and if there are many people then you might have to wait for your turn. Travel safe and responsibly. Thank you 🙏🏽

We visited a mountain hot spring on May 1st. The views were stunning — like a movie scene — but the road was rough and scary. It started off exciting, then turned into a narrow, unpaved path that damaged my car’s hood. Near the end, only one car fits at a time, which was nerve-wracking. Only one pool was hot; the rest were cold. On the way, we saw wild goats by the road, so drive carefully. Overall, it was a thrilling and unique experience.

Once you navigate the active logging road the springs are awesome. A very cool adventure. It will be busy on a nice day. You must be comfortable navigating rocks to access the hot springs. Not sure how clean the two hot pools are with so many people in them. The sulphur smell is very prevalent. There are two pit toilets at the top by the parking lot. Be sure to be careful but worth the risk.
