Miette Hot Springs

We had a mixed experience here. The pool itself is unremarkable and the pool staff's eagerness to manufacture serenity in an already serene environment made it an uncomfortable experience for our family with young, and objectively reasonably behaved, children. I understand where they're coming from, but the experience left a bad taste. It almost felt like our family was being picked on, even though there were only a few people there when we visited and no one complained about kids moving around, quietly, in the pool. The very fact that they were not sitted still like adults somehow meant they were ruining the experience for everyone. I understand the need to create a good experience for guests, but not at the expense of families with young children who paid the same as everyone else to be there. I'd give 2 stars at most for the pool experience itself. That said, the pool is the least remarkable of the Miette experience. The half hour drive up there is spectacular, the views magnificent, and the short walk to the ruins of the old pool and the hot spring source (it's a small trickle draining down a gutter at the very end of the trail) makes the trip well worth it. For those who couldn't care less about a slightly warm pool in the middle of the mountains, I recommend walking to the hot spring source and back and hiking the Sulphur trail (we didn't do that as we had children with us). The old ruins of the original pool is also a nice piece of history. You can still see some of the features of the pool including the drains.

One of my favourite spots to get away from everything and relax. The drive up is always amazing, the staff and life guards are super friendly and the water temperature has always been great. The change rooms are consistently cleaned and I’ve never had a problem with the locker system. The parking lot is incredibly spacious and it’s easy to lose a day there observing the views and enjoying a meal out the back of your vehicle or on one of their many tables scattered around the area. There is no cell service as well so it’s a great spot to unwind from technology and focus on relaxing with friends, family, or with a loved one. I’ve gone at all times of the week and at all times of the day and it’s always great. If you go later in the season you can experience the Hot Springs after dusk when they turn the pool lights and big lights on, which usually offers a fun unique experience where you can watch bats fly around and eat the little bugs around the lights! Definitely recommend checking out the campsite nearby so you can experience the Springs or the hiking trail first thing in the morning or later in the evening without having to worry about making the drive back to Hinton after!

Great little hidden gem by Jasper AB. Honestly, the drive up is a bit scary 🫣 but worth it completely. There is 1 hot 🥵 pool, 1 a little bit cooler and, 2 smaller ones that are super cold 🥶 all in all it was a very clean facility run by the Federal Government. It is handicap accessible but the handicap parking was a bit confusing to find because it’s separate from the main parking area and, behind the pools. Very cute 🥰 place to visit for the day or even a couple days if you want to stay in the hotels 🏨 near by. The pools are great for achey bones 🦴 or muscles 💪 Thank you 😊 for a great day 💕

Love visiting this hot spring. Was here late June 2025. Absolutely beautiful. The drive up and down to the hot springs is also quite breathtaking. Very crowded but easy to spend a few hours just lounging and cold plunging. The showers are not hot enough and cold being near the door. They try to keep it clean by getting everyone to remove their shoes before entering the change rooms but I felt the floor was still kind of gross and very covered in hair. I would still visit again in the future. This was my 2nd time visiting after my first visits about 15 years ago. Not much has changed.

It is a wonderful drive up to the hotsprings. However, I was a little underwhelmed when I first arrived. The office area is tiny and the bathroom for people not yet in the hotspring is outside (but under a roof) which is brutal if it's windy and raining! The prices are reasonable and the scenery is amazing! There was no line up too get in on Sept 25th. One of the pools is shallower and cooler and the deeper and warmer. Cozy up to a jet for warmer temperatures.
