Pacific Mist Spa

We booked the Healing Caves experience and unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing for the price. In my opinion this would feel appropriately priced around $30 maybe $40 but that would be pushing it. The price definitely did not deliver the experience I would have expected. The first room was only slightly warm and if you actually wanted to feel any heat you had to stand on the seating area. The jungle steam room was okay, but again the floor was cold and the room was warm at best, not hot. The cold room was very cold, which it is supposed to be, but it did not really make up for the overall experience. The salt room felt more like a gimmick than a therapeutic space. The projection screens throughout looked like old projector TVs on their last legs. The colors were off and the visuals felt dated. The music also ran on a short loop and repeated over and over, which made the experience feel even less immersive and more artificial. The design details did not help. There were plastic plants throughout. In the jungle cave they were not too noticeable, but in the Aurora room there is a visible metal frame with perfectly square panels and fake plants wrapped around it that do not fully cover the structure. You can clearly see the frame, which makes it look fake and janky. Overall the caves felt more like a 1960s theme park with spray foam and plaster walls that were poorly painted and designed. For the price I would have expected real stone or at least a more premium finish. The final thunderstorm room was visually cool, but the water was colder than I would run for a bath, so we left feeling cold rather than relaxed. I was really looking forward to warming up in the hot tub afterward, but when we asked we were told we would have needed to arrive early and book it. No one mentioned that when we booked the Healing Caves, so there was no way for us to know. It would have made a big difference to be able to warm up at the end before leaving. The property itself is beautiful, which makes it even more frustrating that the experience did not match the setting. The relaxation lounge chairs looked like they were 50 years old with paint peeling, and we noticed peeling paint in the bathrooms as well. It did not feel well maintained. The staff however were fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and professional. They were not the issue at all. We ate at the restaurant afterward and it was excellent. The Hong Kong French toast was delicious and the bacon and eggs were very good as well. I would absolutely recommend the restaurant. Overall I would suggest staying at the hotel if you are considering it because the property is beautiful. But I would not spend money on the Healing Caves experience. On Vancouver Island there are countless other things you could do that would offer far better value for the price.

I drove up from Victoria for The Healing Caves experience and it did not disappoint! Such an innovative way to approach a sauna circuit. The multimedia aspect was so well done and it was great to have the guides come and move you along at the intervals to explore the six caves over the 75 minute experience. There was a refreshing electrolytes station after the fourth cave and again either sparkling water or prosecco at the end of the circuit. I’m so surprised larger centres are not jumping on this! I also had a very nice relaxation massage afterwards where I dozed off for a bit. I usually get RMT massages so was a bit skeptical I would enjoy this, but I did! The spa has lots of great retail options including bathing suits and clothing (lululemon and other premier active wear brands). The spa layout is generally very good, three storeys with The Healing Caves in the basement, reception, retail and change rooms on the main floor and treatment rooms above on the second level. Change rooms are spacious but quickly filled up on a busy summer Saturday. The pool is also very popular with deck chairs filling up quickly. My only “even better if” the waiting lounge had more comfortable seats. The banquette seating is very hard and the seat depth is quite shallow and backs very high so not something you sink into. Spa staff were friendly and professional (even with some rude and late arriving guests who were very dismissive) and kept the facilities spotless. Highly recommended!

I recently attended a friend's birthday party at the Pacific Mist Spa and Hydropath, and it was an exceptional experience! This was my first time indulging in such luxurious spa treatments, and it exceeded all expectations. The facilities are top-notch, with a beautiful swimming pool, inviting hot tub, rejuvenating steam room, and relaxing sauna. The highlight was the cave-like water spa area downstairs, which added a unique touch to the experience. It truly felt like we were sitting in a tranquil cave. The friendly staff and knowledgeable guide ensured that we made the most of our visit, although I would have loved it if the experience could have been a bit longer. After the water treatments, the relaxation room was the perfect place to unwind. The spa's garden area with a cozy fire pit was the ideal spot to conclude our visit. I had no idea this hidden treasure existed before attending this event. It's a true gem that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a serene and rejuvenating spa experience. Thank you, Pacific Mist Spa and Hydropath, for making this birthday celebration unforgettable. I can't wait to return for another visit!

I was apprehensive about doing the Pacific Mist Hydropath at the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa. Several of my wife's friends raved about it, and the people I saw staggering out of it, as if wafted on a cloud of Ganga, made me dubious. Surprise, surprise! The Pacific Mist Hydropath was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing experience. The staff were very attentive and enthusiastic. It was extremely relaxing and contemplative. By the end of the 45-minute walk through their various pools and baths, I was ready to stretch in the Relaxation Lounge and take in the stunning views of the Salish Sea.

Relaxing and catered for is how we felt when visited. The staff were kind, gently loving and catered to our needs. Erin, our guide through the hydopath, explained everything to us and what each section was for. I think the value of the package o the price. The dinning experience was amazing Noel our servers was loving and made us feel right at home. Hats of to the chef the cauliflower tacos where to die for. I highly recommend you go and and enjoy the experience.
