Parc des Chutes

The falls were not running because they directed the water to the generator due to lack of water. Sad because we made a special stop for this. The area is beautiful nonetheless w trails and touristy parts as well. It seems people ice climb in the winter which would be fun to see! A lost housepet (bunny) randomly showed up on my adventure 😊! Chutes were still impressive and the generator info area was very interesting!

I first had the pleasure of visiting this location in April of 2016. It was an awe-inspiring and majestic sight. I returned on the 25th of July and have attached some photographs from both visits for your comparison. While I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences, I must admit that my initial visit eight years ago holds a special place in my heart.

A beautiful waterfall situated right at the centre of the city. There is a trail with multiple view points. The view points along the trail did have views obstructed by trees. One could get a closer view of the falls from the park that is on the lower ground. This park is a great spot to spend some time in nature and tranquility.

Hidden gem off the highway. We've been looking for a good halfway point for road trips to the Maritimes, and Rivière du Loup is going to be it, I think! This park is beautiful, with many great walking trails (dog friendly) and a really fun parkour gym / low ropes course hidden away in the centre of the park. Highly recommended!

Over ten kilometres of woodland trails along the river and through a heritage orchard, all just steps from downtown. There's a 33-metre waterfall and old power generating station, still in operation, a visit is definitely a must. There's a parking lot close by, and you can get across the river using a bridge.
