Pure Day Spa

Our spa day experience was a huge disappointment. We had contacted Pure Day Spa in Amherstburg 10 days in advance to book a couple's spa treatment, specifically asking if we could be in the same room for our wedding anniversary. The person who answered the phone on October 25 assured us that they could accommodate our request. Following our call that afternoon, we visited the spa and spoke the the same lady to book our treatments, which included two 90-minute facials, a body wrap for myself, and a massage for my husband. Our primary reason for choosing these treatments was to spend our anniversary together. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that we would not be in the same room, with no explanation provided, particularly surprising given that one room had two beds. Our spa day experience at Pure Day Spa was underwhelming. We were both surprised and disappointed that our request for a joint spa treatment was not honored, which undoubtedly detracted from the ambiance of our special day. As a frequent spa-goer, I have consistently enjoyed positive experiences, departing feeling refreshed and revitalized. However, my first visit to Pure Day Spa did not meet my expectations. Although the aesthetician was friendly and chatty, I prefer a more subdued environment to fully relax, which is typically provided at other spas I have visited. The treatment room lacked ambiance, with inadequate lighting and temperature control, resembling a medical clinic. Furthermore, the 90-minute facial I booked was shortened to 60 minutes, with the aesthetician stating that my skin was in good condition. The body scrub and wrap treatment also failed to meet expectations. Given these shortcomings, Pure Day Spa requires significant improvements. As someone who values supporting local businesses, it's unfortunate that this establishment will not receive my future patronage.
As part of our wedding anniversary day we had arranged to have a couples facial along with some other treatments (massage and body wrap). We asked on the phone and in-person, when we booked the treatments (for November 4th), that we be in the same room when the treatments are performed. In both instances (phone and in-person) we were assured that we would be in the same room. Upon our arrival for the treatments, we were escorted to separate treatment rooms. When we inquired, we were told treatment in the same room as a couple was not possible. No further explanation was provided. As we had confirmed the treatments the day before, I felt pressured to proceed with them, but inside I was very upset, as the whole point of booking the treatments was to do them together on our wedding anniversary. The treatments themselves and ambience of the spa, were nothing to write home about, meaning OK, but not more than that. Will I go back, will I recommend Pure Day Spa, my answer is a resounding NO! Put simply, if you cannot honour a key request of a client, you should say so up-front. It was a real downer for our anniversary celebration.
What a lovely atmosphere and very kind staff at Pure Day Spa. However, my two stars are due to the fact that I had a gel manicure done and by day 4 almost every finger had a chip or was lifting. I was leaving for vacation and I could have done my own gel at home but I really wanted to treat myself to have a professional do it (expecting it would last much longer and look great my whole trip). When I called about this the customer service was quite lacking. Just saying sorry and nothing more does not cut it. I hope this can be a learning experience for staff to brush up on service excellence. I ended up having to do my own removal and gel polish the day I was leaving for my trip making the morning a hectic mess.
My wife and I just had the most amazing couples massage and facial with Corrine and Rachel, and we are still floating! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and relaxed. Corrine and Rachel were not only professional but also incredibly warm, attentive, and skilled. The massages melted away all our stress, and the facials left our skin feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and glowing. We both agreed it was one of the best spa experiences we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a romantic, peaceful, and top-tier spa day, look no further than Pure Day Spa. We can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful spa located in such a charming part of the town. Spent the morning with my boyfriend being pampered by Rachel and Corine. We had a relaxing and romantic couples massage, and I topped my visit off with a perfect pedicure and the best facial experience. They used the Valmont skin line for the facial, and my skin loved it! From start to finish we were treated with incredible care and service, left feeling on cloud 9. Would give 6/5 stars if I could, deff recommend booking a day here!
