Radium Hot Springs

Spending yesterday afternoon at Radium Hot Springs was the ultimate way to decompress. Nestled within the towering cliffs of Sinclair Canyon, the setting is nothing short of dramatic. Being there while both the hot soaking pool and the cooler swimming pool were open made for a perfectly balanced experience. The mineral-rich hot pool, maintained at a soothing thirty-nine degrees Celsius, immediately melted away any lingering stress. Unlike many other springs, the water is remarkably odorless, which makes the soak even more pleasant. Transitioning between the heat of the soaking pool and the refreshing twenty-nine degrees Celsius swimming pool provided that invigorating hydrotherapy feel that keeps you energized rather than just sleepy. The facility itself remains well-maintained and clean. Even on a busy afternoon, the spacious layout prevented it from feeling overcrowded. Watching the sun dip behind the rugged rock walls while floating in the steam was a highlight. Whether you are looking for a deep muscle soak after a hike or just a scenic place to relax with family, Radium delivers. It is a classic Canadian Rockies experience that never gets old. If you find yourself in the area, ensuring you visit when both pools are accessible is definitely the way to go. It is truly wonderful.

Radium Hot Springs was such a great experience. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, and surprisingly it wasn’t as busy as I expected, even on Valentine’s Day weekend. The vibe is calm, slightly romantic, and honestly feels like a bit of a spiritual cleanse. We stayed for about two hours and left feeling completely refreshed. Admission is around $20 per adult, which is very reasonable for what you get. Every entry includes access to the locker room, and there’s plenty of space. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and you can rent towels and even swimwear if you forget yours. Pro tip: bring slippers — they definitely come in handy. I saw people of all ages enjoying the pools, which makes it a great spot whether you’re going with friends, family, or a partner. I think the best time to go would be at night when it’s cold outside and the hot water feels even better. I’d honestly choose this over some of the more expensive Nordic spas around Alberta. The small town of Radium Hot Springs itself is beautiful too, with lots of food options nearby. Highly recommend — you’ll love this place.

The epitome of meh. It is dangling precariously on the edge of a tourist trap. The lockers were absolutely disgusting, I felt nauseous just standing on the floor. Genuinely concerned about foot fungus or other infections, I plan to wash my feet after this. The pool was ok, just underwhelming; the water wasn't hot. I would consider it on the hotter side of lukewarm. It was also quite crowded. The only real plus is the view. There are mountains around the pool, but it isn't anything special. The infrastructure is more impressive than the actual substance; it must make a colossal amount of cash with how much it gouges its visitors of their money. In simple terms, it is not worth the money. It must have absolutely amazing marketing for tricking me and the other hundred people I saw to spend 30 minutes there. I had more enjoyable experiences in every other middle of nowhere hot spring I've ever visited. This doesn't deserve the publicity it gets. Just take a hot bath instead.

It’s family-friendly, yet still calm enough for a quiet soak. After a long day of driving or hiking, this stop feels especially rewarding. Overall, Radium Hot Springs is a must-visit when traveling through the area — perfect for relaxing sore muscles and enjoying a classic Canadian Rockies experience.

The 'hot pool' temperature is simply too low to be cozy for winter. If you find a heat vent, at least you can keep your legs warm, I guess. The big problem is the temperature regulation. The water temperature changes every 2 feet and there aren't any spots where it's any warmer than "technically not cold" if it's below 0 outside. Not a particularly relaxing experience, as I spent more time trying to stay warm than enjoying myself. I've been going to hot springs all my life, and Banff Hot Springs just knocks this one out of the park for a winter soak. Reserve Radium for the warmer months and hopefully Banff Hot Springs will be open for next winter. That one is like a warm blanket and it's wonderful.
