Spa des Sables

I want to start on a positive note: I had an amazing massage with the massage therapist on site. She was incredibly kind, professional, and truly talented. The massage itself was excellent, relaxing, and absolutely the highlight of our experience. I would genuinely recommend her without hesitation. Unfortunately, after that, the experience went downhill. We were staying at the hotel, which already includes access to an indoor pool, two spas, and an indoor sauna. However, we chose to pay extra to access the spa resort, which is advertised as offering two indoor hot tubs, multiple showers, an EMA eucalyptus steam room, an outdoor dry sauna, an outdoor hot tub, and a cold plunge. We started with the outdoor hot tub, which was not hot at all. The jets were mostly pushing out cold water, and overall the temperature was very disappointing. We are big spa lovers, and this was far from what you’d expect. Next, we tried the outdoor dry sauna, which was visually beautiful. However, the pathway to get there hadn’t even been shoveled, which felt careless—especially considering we paid full price for the spa access. Once inside, we had to add water ourselves. When we moved indoors to the two hot tubs, we noticed we were completely alone. At first we found that strange, but we quickly understood why. The entire spa area felt neglected. Everything looked old, poorly maintained, and unclean. There were visible stains on the walls behind the hot tubs (possibly coffee or something else), which is unacceptable in a spa setting. The EMA steam room was particularly disappointing. There was little to no eucalyptus scent, and the space felt uncomfortable and honestly unsafe. It felt like the ceiling could deteriorate at any moment. It clearly needs major maintenance and care. Overall, the spa feels like it used to be beautiful, but it has been left to decline. It needs a lot of love, upkeep, and attention. We stayed for about an hour and a half, but spent nearly half that time simply sitting on chairs talking, because actually using the facilities was unpleasant. In the end, I truly don’t feel there was any reason to pay extra for the spa access. We would have been better off using the hotel’s included amenities. Even the exterior hot tub wasn’t worth it, as it wasn’t warm. To summarize: ✔️ Outstanding massage and an excellent massage therapist ❌ Very disappointing spa facilities ❌ Poor maintenance and cleanliness ❌ Not worth the additional cost I highly recommend the massage therapist—but sadly, I cannot recommend paying extra for the spa itself in its current condition

The spa was truly unsanitary, with mold on the edges of the baths and on the lounge chairs. There was no fire to light the outdoor hot tub, the floor was black, the benches were very dirty, and there were no chairs to clear away from the …

I had a great experience with Gérard. I need to get rid of knots and he killed it (in a good way). I highly recommend to come here if you need a massage.

Massage therapist Catherine is an expert in therapeutic massage. I highly recommend this spa, located in the Manoir des Sables. Paradise!
