Spa Euphoria & Wellness Retreat

Wish I never went here. Be warned... I was visiting Thunder Bay for a wedding and as part of the bachelorette party, the maid of honour organized a trip to this "spa" for manicures for the bride and us bridesmaids. I normally have an awesome place I go to at home, where I pay $30 with tip for a shellac manicure and it lasts 2-3 weeks. However, I wanted to be a part of this day, so opted not to have my nails done prior, and join the rest of the girls. We were pleasantly surprised that the spa allowed us to bring supplies to make mimosas and enjoy them during our treatments. One of the girls was very helpful in helping us choose colors to match our bridesmaid dresses. I was going to go for a basic manicure with regular polish, but the girl persuaded me otherwise because the shellac would "last a couple weeks". I decided to go for the spa manicure, which I'm only now realizing that I did not receive the hand soak and the massage that is included in both the classic and the spa, nor the exfoliating scrub or extended massage in the spa package. I paid $55. It seemed the girl doing my nails was new. While she was friendly, she was slow and stumbled a few times. That's fine - everyone needs to start somewhere, right? I received a nude shellac polish, with a champagne sparkle accent nail on each hand. They looked beautiful when they were finished and the girls allowed us to use the pedicure massage chairs while we waited for our friends to be finished. However, just 3 hours later my nails began developing cracks in the shellac. I was shocked! This has never happened to me before, and I'm a dog groomer whose hands are constantly in water and being banged around. I attempted to email the spa late that night. The email I found on their Facebook page apparently doesn't exist as my email was returned undeliverable. So I sent a message on Facebook, since it said they typically reply in minutes. By the next morning, my nails were so cracked, and they were even beginning to peel. Upon meeting up with the other bridesmaids, another had gotten the exact colors and had the same girl as I did, and her nails were also cracking and peeling. I received a reply that morning, and the girl seemed very shocked and apologetic, and offered a fix or a refund. Since the wedding was that day, we opted for a refund since there was no time for a fix. We provided our email addresses and we were so pleased with the customer service. However, the day came and went and neither of us received our refunds. I messaged again, just double checking if they had been sent, as both our names in our email addresses are often misspelled, and wanted to make sure they were actually sent to us. No reply until the next day. The girl stated she was unable to give the refund the day before as she wasn't in the spa and to add us as payees, the bank needed to call the spa with a verification code. She said she would be in the spa that day and we would receive the refunds "no later than that night". Well, that night came and went, no refunds. I sent a message the following day to follow up. No reply. Another message the following day, no reply. This went on for 4 days. My messages were being shown as "read" but I was not receiving a reply. Meanwhile, I went to my usual place to have the cracked, peeling, and chipped shellac removed, and the 2 girls there were in shock. They had never see me anything like this! The other bridesmaid sent a message herself and she was given a reply, stating the girl was sick and not in the spa all week, but the refunds would be given that Saturday night at the latest. This was now 8 days after our manicures. Well, Saturday came, and after their closing time, we still had not received our refunds (nor myself given a response to any of my last 4 messages) so I wrote a review on their Facebook page explaining my frustrations. I was not rude, just stated facts and my feelings. Well, shortly after posting my review, the other bridesmaid received her refund. I still, have not. I'm extremely frustrated. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!
(Update - Their employees are giving 5 star to scew the results! I reported the likes. )I went in for a manicure and possibly a pedicure. When I arrived I was asked to take my shoes off but it was so cold in there I had to put them back on and I decided it was way too cold to get a pedicure. I asked the girls multiple times to help me find a nude coloured shellac polish but they were annoyed that I kept asking for help. They didn't have a colour wheel of their polishes and told me to open every single polish to see the colour, the bottles were crusty and hard to open. So she begins the manicure and doesn't even soak my nails, she started cutting my hard cuticles and didnt attempt to soften them, which obviously hurt! The entire time she kept asking personal questions which I was clearly not wanting to answer but she persisted. She did a horrible job and had shellac polish all around my nails, it made my nails look twice as big as they were, it looked ridiculous. I finally went to pay and the girl at the cash asked the girl doing my nails "how much do you want to charge her?" I spoke up and said your website says $45 for a SPA manicure with a hand salt massage, hand soak, etc which I got NONE of. She ended up charging me just under $40 and there wasn't and option for a tip on their iPhone payment so I gave the girl $2, which she didn't even deserve. My nails chipped within hours and the shellac was cracked everywhere which I've never experienced before. This was by far the WORST nail experience I've ever had and especially by a "SPA". I wanted to have a relaxing time and have a spa experience which was not at all what I received. Don't be fooled by their nice website and descriptions of their services because the services they provide are absolutely terrible. I have photos of how terrible my nails looked and will upload if possible, I even told the girls I needed my nails to look nice for an important interview coming up and I didn't want to worry about doing them myself. Oh, and instead of having nice soothing music like most spas, they didn't have any and I had to listen to these young girls chatting and asking about switching shifts with each other. This salon and its equipment was dirty. This salon is clearly ran by young individuals that don't know how to run a salon.
I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed with my latest visit to this salon. I went in with friends for some manicures on a Saturday. The technician seemed irritated when I was asking for suggestions on colour and style. Okay, I can see that, I should know what I want. Not a big deal, I can get past that. I also told her that I had had a manicure previously and they used a strange base coat I wasn't able to get off, and she just said she probably wouldn't be able to as well, and didn't even try. Okay, again, not her problem, she wasn't the one who applied it, that's fine. The manicure itself was just okay. The website says it includes a hand soak, which I didn't get, an exfoliating scrub, which I also didn't get. She asked what nail shape I like, and I said rounded, and then she proceeded to file them pretty haphazardly, so much so that I had to fix it myself when I got home. There was also polish left on many of my cuticles as well as the skin of my hand. The colours were nice, but the glitter she used was visually and physically lumpy on two of the nails and when I asked about it, she just told me that's how it cures and there's nothing she can do...which doesn't make sense because none of the other nails turned out that way. There is also a hair polished into one of the nails that is already driving me crazy to look at. They also didn't inform us that they didn't take debit until the manicures were finished. Overall, the people were pleasant enough, but I would not recommend this salon, and if I wasn't with a group of my friends, I would have made a bigger deal about it. But all the employees seemed to be in a big rush to set up for a party after our appointments, so I suppose we weren't a priority.
Because of the promos and offers i went to spa euphoria which was one of the bad decisions ever in my life. I lost so much amount of money the lady who was the owner of the shop doesn’t have any knowledge about skin or anything else .. She just bought some devices with some amount of money and trying to use it to her customers.. by taking too much amount of money per session….Seeing an offer for manicure i went over there n the offer was 29 dollars n this women charged me 59 dollars bt i haven’t uttered a word against her .. its was my mistake even done my manicure without soaking n she cut the cuticles like raw n it was so so painful i was not satisfied . The service was literally so poor and while i was lying there for the session i can see other customers hairs all around..if i had spend these much amount to other good places at least i will get some good customer service … bt this place a big no ….Today was my 4th session she finished the 30 min session as a 10 min session and told me to go … i was really sad ,i had spend more than 1000 dollars n she literally told me like this … the only reason i am putting a review is only because of that atleast if she had shown some respect for the hard earned money of us i shoulnt have given a review like this If you want to waste your money you can go to this place….
I paid over $600 and had 12 laser treatments that Janet said would take in 6 and I still have a ton of hair .. 2 different people did my laser and I had to point out several times where it was not taking and sometimes my appointments were less than 10 mins and they just kept doing the same places over and over instead of covering the whole area.. the lip laser didn’t even work …some quirks about honouring promos and forgot me in a room while on the phone with the bank for 45 mins also forgot to book me in when I paid and made up a fake date that I was booked in on when I was actually in class that day … finally I would give 0 stars for the satisfaction and results and 1 for being friendly but that is all… I didn’t try any other services because I was disappointed with the one I got DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND 💯
