The Crossing at Ghost River: Inn & Venue

There are so many wonderful happenings from my weekend at your venue and I will give you my top ten beginning with the very best: 1. The food at the wedding reception was beyond belief: vegetables done and served were perfect and the asparagus the best I have ever had. The beef and I don’t usually eat beef, was so delicious I for the first time in my long life went back for seconds. 2. Parking. It was so easy to find a spot and park close to the activities. In Calgary parking has become a high blood pressure item and not only did I just pull in and park but spotted my best friend within ten steps. 3. Bottles of water, fancy coffee and special teas available for our use all the time at no extra costs. 4. The old buildings: especially the main house where I slept. I felt like I was back at my grandparents home and I totally loved my room. It was a busy time so sleep at a minimum but when grabbing a few minutes it was private and rewarding. 5. People: all I need to say is excellent staff and they are worth their weight in gold! 6. Caring attitude: very few places have so many staff who genuinely care about their guests and everyone I interacted with truly made sure I was totally looked after: a tremendous loving and caring environment. I am a psychologist and you restored my faith in human nature. 7. Cleanliness: a spotless environment and to provide blankets for a cool afternoon was a nice addition. 8. Expectations: one goes there with hotel expectations and leaves with the feeling of leaving one’s home. Don’t know exactly how you have created this but you have and it is wonderful. 9. Providing staff and shuttle buses. I love walking but found myself grabbing a ride every chance I got. Another very thoughtful addition to your service. 10 and final thought: totally the best place to visit in all aspects: if one needs a break from city living my advice would be book in for a few days and restore your mental health. I have been all over the world and to find in my own back yard your relaxing environment is truly a surprise and a very nice reward for working diligently. Thank you! Karen Annon
….. Where to begin, I unfortunately got trusted planning the day of our dreams as my better half was doing her masters program while working. First of all you don’t know me but I’ll admit I’m not the easiest to deal with and I’m learning, I tend to become very blunt and honest when hiccups occur. First of all I need to apologize to Antonia and Helena as little did I know august 15/16th would become days that you can only dream of! The moment we pulled up the day before our wedding to the moment we left I have no words. Don’t think I’ve come across two amazing individuals of when it’s go time they won’t settle for anything less then perfection and that word never existed in my dictionary before that day and never will again for after but for those two days (tear eye). My wife me my friends and family will never be able to thank you all enough for what you and your amazing team did for us that weekend. From Spencer and Cassidy and the people they had working with them in the back end and setting up and to giving my uncle a hard time! I thank you Cassidy for that haha! To Aeron and his amazing team of chefs he gets to work with your food and presentation and delivery truly was remarkable! I truly cant thank all of you enough for making the day and weekend that special for my wife and all our guests!! You guys truly made me feel like more then just a construction worker and it meant the world. All I can say is I know it might be a bit much for some but it’s worth it. We’ll be going back every couple years on our anniversary date for sure!
I was googling "romantic places near Calgary" to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and I stumbled onto The Crossing. WOW! this place is amazing! We were greated by super friendly and helpful staff. Our room was huge with a private balcony where we got to watch an amazing sunrise! Our bed was super coumfy and we had a great sleep! We added on the picnic dinner up at the lean-to which was a very romantic adventure! The food was delicious and we got to sit in the lean-to and watch the sunset, and have a little bonfire as well. This is a great place for a wedding, a corporate event, or just a couples romantic getaway! Shout out to Cassidy, Kayden, and Hellena for your amazing hospitality!
We had our wedding at the Crossing and it was absolutely perfect! The property is beautiful and provided a number of stunning backdrops for our various events and photos. The food was delicious. Everyone raved about it and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the resort to ourselves and everyone felt comfortable leaving their rooms unlocked. We even forgot the card box in the reception area overnight and had zero concerns about anything going missing. All in all it was the perfect wedding and our guests had an amazing time. Thank you to Rob and everyone at the Crossing!
My wife and 6 year old recently stayed at the Crossing and it was an outstanding experience. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was locally sourced and delicious, and had a variety of options that were even able to satisfy a very particular 6 year old palate ;) The hotel is perfect for both families and couples, offering something for everyone. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Alberta foothills, in the Ghost River valley, the surroundings were truly picturesque. We are already looking forward to returning for another wonderful stay!
