The Wellness Spa

I booked in for a pedicure for my mom and I. The website advised that if you were coming in with gel nail polish to book the delux pedi as it had extra time to remove. It also included gel application and paraffin wax. It took my esthetician 30 min to get my gel off. And my mothers took almost 45 min. They were filing with a tiny file, and finally took out the dremel file (which they only had one of). I have never been to a spa that took more then 10 min to get gel off. We were asked where we had gone, which we had both gone to different nail salons although neither had ever been met with such an issue in all our years of receiving pedicures. Close to the end of the hour and half service my aesthetician said we were done and my mom asked about the paraffin, she said there was not time. She did say that if I really wanted it she could but my mom was still not done hers as it had taken so long and I honestly couldn’t sit there for another half hour. We were charged for the full service. I understand that my mom’s service went for an hour and 45 but again I have never been to a spa that took 45 minutes to get gel off. I have gotten it off quicker at home without a Dremel. The staff was nice so we didn’t fault them for the issue. I also called after the service and left a message with this information explaining my disappointment but after not hearing from them for two days I decided to leave a review. My mother was not pleased with her experience as hers was extremely rushed due to the extended time to get the polish off. It felt like we spent $90 to have our gel polish removed and had a sub par experience with the actual pedicure.
I came for the spa pedicure and it was pretty meh. The technician that did my service was kind and friendly, and did a good job with the tools she had, but the pedicure room seems not set up for success. The foot basin was small, not very deep, and had thin square edges, not ideal for a spa foot soak. The foot rest was a tiny collapsible pillow thing placed in the basin that collapsed with the weight of my foot. I didn't bring flip flops for regular polish, and the tech said she couldn't do gel/shellac - no worries, but I wish I had a heads up that I should have brought sandals or I should have pre booked a shellac appointment. Overall a pretty underwhelming experience especially for $70. Many other great spots in town that have the right tools and more comfortable spaces.
I got a facial here from Pippa. It was truly amazing. I have problem skin as it is and have always been insecure about it. This is the absolute place to go. Pippa was so kind and welcoming and really normalized the experience. I was so relaxed by the end of it I fell asleep and I left with my skin looking amazing and healing in the following days after! The products they use felt wonderful and I can say overall was a wonderful experience
I had the best experience today with Pippa at the Wellness Spa in Kelowna!!! She is so professional and personable and ever so kind making a person feel so comfortable! I loved the massage and how she works on areas where most needed throughout! And the pedicure is PERFECT too!!! Thankyou Pippa! You made my day! I most definitely recommend you and the Wellness Spa!!!♥️
Today’s pedicure was a bit disappointing. Pippa and Sarah were very personable . The pedicure area appeared to be a dump off room a bit neglected. The employees didn’t seem to have adequate supplies (nail polish) and the whole experience didn’t seem to worth $144 for 2x spa pedicures. I had been there before and it was definitely a different experience.
