Fehérvárcsurgói

It has been renovated, it looks completely different than the pictures "presented by Google". (That's why I'm including a few) It's more interesting than spectacular...hence the 4 stars. (Interesting from a water and fishing perspective) It's forbidden to swim in the reservoir, but there are a lot of pečás, huge fish are caught here! Walking around the reservoir itself takes several hours, but it's easy, the terrain is flat, and it's easy to do with a dog, a stroller, or small children. (There's no shade!) There are few opportunities to get water, there are drilled wells around the reservoir (on the outskirts of the settlement). We found a snack bar in 2 places. Several hiking trails crisscross this area, including the international KÉK Túra trail, which takes you further towards the force.

The reservoir was built in Fejér County, on the eastern edge of the Bakony Mountains, on the outskirts of the villages of Kincsesbánya and Fehérvárcsurgó. The built facilities were put into operation in 1972. The original, primary purpose of the construction of the reservoir was to protect the mined area under the Gaja stream against water infiltration, and the secondary purpose was to reduce flood peak values. It is located in a beautiful, spectacular environment, but the real beauty, the Gaja Valley, begins a few kilometers from here.

The blue tour route goes half way around it. Here is also the blue tour's sealing point on a rocky section, on the south side of the lake. The view of the lake is very impressive. Many people fish on its shore.

Often really busy with slightly chance of catching fish. Last time we went there some people listened music so loudly and nothing happened. It really ruined our trip. Otherwise the area is beautiful.

It's worth walking around and admiring this beautiful place, and bringing binoculars if you want to watch the birds. :) In windy weather you can see quite big waves.
