I have always wanted to see that building since I had a look at a photo that about twenty five years ago. On the photo, the church was in ruins with a promise to smell the lost souls of its disappeared hasid community. Now it is nicely reconstructed. However, I miss the feeling of magic, which the old medieval synagogue in Sopron certainly has. Whatever. Go and see both premises and do not miss leutering around the Jewish cemetery 🪦 in Mad. You will not regret it

a beautifully restored baroque synagogue, that was built in the 18th century after polish examples. to enter, ask for the keys in the below lying rabbi house. it's worth the small sum, the interior is quite unique and richly decorated.
