Sen Spa Mátraszentimre

The wellness area is quite good, the staff is polite, the food is delicious, the surroundings and the view are simply great. I deducted one star for the following reason: When we visited, it was full, some of the guests were - without exaggeration - really subpar and it was even bad to listen to the tone they allowed themselves towards the staff (we were lucky enough to experience this on several occasions). Many came with families, the children ran around the corridor until 1:30 in the morning, and screamed in the rooms until 1:15. The doors can only be opened and closed with a card, which caused difficulty for many, so there was constant noise from the door being pulled. It was difficult to relax in the wellness area, sauna use was prohibited, and despite the signs prohibiting jumping into the water, some parents threw their children into the pool from the edge themselves. The problem could have been solved if at least one member of the staff was in the wellness area and warned them. This hotel is completely unsuitable for relaxation and rest, despite being fully booked, because the staff cannot handle the problem.

When the Weiss Manfréd factory built this hotel, they probably didn't think how timeless it would be. That's exactly the problem. Since then, it seems like it hasn't kept up with the times. But we can look at this from the other side. I like the retro line. But if we get over that, the natural beauty makes up for everything. There's still potential in the area, but it's a good place to relax.

This hotel could not get four stars even with a good attitude. The rooms are small, the walls are thin. The service is okay, the food is delicious. The wellness is below criticism, it is filthy. The trash thrown in the sauna was not taken out for four days, it was not cleaned for those four days. The environment is a five-star, but that is the merit of Mátra.

Plenty of rooms, abundant and varied breakfast and dinner! The view from the room and the panoramic terrace of the restaurant is beautiful, but for those who don't have enough, there is also the renovated lookout tower about 100 meters away! :)

We had the opportunity to spend a long weekend here. Polite service, pleasant wellness, and an exciting night tour awaited us.
