Thermal Camping Zalakaros

We paid €100 for an overnight stay at the campsite, which included four tickets to the thermal baths for two hours. At no point were we informed that only three children’s slides were working – which are certainly not worth the full price. Type Zaokaros in google and see what is the first picture - a bunch of slides - that’s why we drove 250km to enjoy the slides. In addition, we were given incorrect and misleading information that we could leave the baths and return again the same morning using the same wristbands. However, the wristbands were taken from us, and the staff pretended not to know anything about it. When we went to the pool to complain about the wristbands being taken, the staff there told us this wasn’t true and that the campsite staff gave us the wrong information. The staff at the campsite were extremely unhelpful – they told us it is not their responsibility to provide information about the baths, but only to sell the tickets. In all our years of camping, we have never had such a disappointing experience
Negative rating due to lack of communication. We arrived at 8:30 PM on October 13, 2025, and the reception was already closed. However, there was a contact number provided to call and information that we could safely call and the barrier would be opened. After several unsuccessful attempts to call, the phone was turned off. Fortunately, we could park for free in a nearby parking lot (coordinates 46.552083, 17.125333).
We stayed only one night but we want to come again. Quite a big camping with a lot of trees and shade. There are no designated pitches and you can choose where to camp. Facilities are clean and new. Also, you get a one-time pass to a nearby aquapark for free. We paid only 20 Euros for our motorhome with 2 people
The campsite has big pitches and very nice staff. The restaurant look okey but we did not eat anything. The town is little and has a lot of pools and parks and lots of biking paths. The toilets and showers are clean but a little outdated and there was no warm water in the beggining of april.
Beautiful Camping. In the forest the receptionist spoke perfect English was very helpfull and was very kind. We couldnt eat at the restaurant because It was full. The only bad thing was that the showers were without locks. Overall a great experience. Thank you
