Zalakaros Thermal Spa

Amazing place, beautifull aquapark. Outside pools were open during november. Big minus, that it is hard to find something. No description on english, no signs on stairs.. Only on pools. We were lost for 15 min, didnt know how to use waredrobe, or where to go to have our locker. For this grade goes od -2. Also windows were open which was terrible because we had blankets right next to it cos it was full. So cold wind when blows in the evening it is not nice. On the other side people who work there are very polite, thats big plus. Water was hot, loved it. Toilets were clean. Bartenders were great, pizza was dry, small, like frozen one, cannot recommand. In the evening kids had aerobic in pool, that was cute. They have playground for kids and kids small playground with salt where spose to be sand but it was extreme cold inside, noone was inside. And maybe to put some place for insta place inside, not just outside, would be plus. It was very crowdy, we were on sunday, so i expect that.
A facility with thermal and also medical waters. The facility is huge with several pools, mostly with thermal waters, but some also with higher concentrations considered as medical. There is also some salt water pools. The attendants are mostly helpful, although they can get a bit less so if one doesn’t even try to speak Hungarian. I also took some therapies: the lymph drainage was unconventional but ok. The medical massage was a disaster and I was happy when It was finally over and not much damage was done. It was supposed to be an hour however it was only half an hour. The lady was simply disinterested and i doubt I ever had a worse massage in my life. My suggestion is to leave the therapies be. They are definitely not helpful, if not outright dangerous. Pity. The Park Inn hotel had a connecting bridge from the hotel to the facility which is quite convenient. This is highly recommended to people suffering pain as i think these waters can indeed alleviate many of the pains.
This spring was discovered during a search for oil production. Oil is indeed extracted 5 km away. The only question is, how healthy is it to swim in water filled with oil byproducts? The thermal pools are filled with oily black clouds with a distinctive oily smell, leaving a distinctive oily residue on the skin. It smells like a car service station. The adventure pool is poorly functioning. All these water activities require a wait of over 40 minutes, and everyone has to fight for a place in them. The massage areas are turned on once an hour and are available for 2-5 people, while the pool is full of dozens of people, all eager to have fun. Everything is also quite slimy and dirty. The mold on the ceiling is hidden under a canopy with a cloud design. Honestly, this is the most unpleasant of all the hot springs I visited in Hungary (I visited 7).
I visited this SPA on Saturday. You can enjoy in the four different areas as adventure pool with outside pool, thermal baths, healing water area, sauna world area. If you buy only adventure pool tickets - sauna also available in this area but if you want to more enjoy sauna so you need have access in sauna world: 4 types of sauna available and also every hour you can visit the sauna program, relax area also available.Good kids pool with slidings.Several cafe open at site. Free parking area near The parkin hotel. SPA has connections with the parkin and the freja hotels.
So many different pools, good for every age! We had a blast and could spend days there. Food felt only slightly more expensive than outside the pool. My only “bad” thing was the rules for the slides. We respected them, but my children who could go on MUCH larger and more intense slides at other water parks were extremely disappointed to not be allowed on the bigger slides. There were so many other activities for them to do that they got distracted soon enough.
