On July 14, 2025, we started bathing at 3:30 AM, coinciding with sunrise. The path from the parking lot is covered in smooth, rounded stones polished by the waves, so sandals are dangerous. I've included some pictures for your reference. Kelp floats in the hot seawater bubbling up from the ground. You can feel like you're being boiled with the kelp. The sunrise at 4:00 AM was magnificent! I couldn't take pictures from inside the bath, so I posted a picture of myself after getting out. The local people kindly maintain the place. We are very grateful.
Wear your shoes, those rocks are tough. What a delightful onsen though. I found the temperature to be perfect, although there did seen to be a jet of extremely hot water coming out through the wall, so beware of hot spots. The view was superb. The mosquitoes did arrive as the sun was setting though. I wish I had brought some mozzie coils. Highly recommended.
We weren't sure where we were heading, but once we found it, it was an unexpected delight. An onsen right on the beach! The temperature is perfect, but be careful near the west wall as some very hot water seeps through.
Was sad. We had a hard time finding the onsen. Then we realized it was completely covered with stones and kelp, no way to enter. You can only feel the heat with your legs when you stand nearby
It appears the bath was disassembled and filled in with rocks. It doesn’t seem to exist anymore sadly.

Primitive springs don’t come with towels. A quick-dry towel, water shoes, and a headlamp for the walk back all pack small.
