Ajigaura Onsen

I used the bath on my way back from visiting Oiwa Shrine. I put my shoes in the locked shoebox, got the key, handed it to the reception, and received an IC tag for use in the facility before bathing. If you go up the stairs behind the reception to the third floor, you'll find separate entrances for men and women on both sides. The lockers in the changing rooms are the type that return your 100 yen coin, which was a nice touch compared to hot springs in the metropolitan area or near tourist spots. There's a shower available at the entrance, but after pouring my own shower over myself, it was quite lukewarm. I headed to the open-air bath, not expecting it to be that bad, but sure enough, the water was lukewarm overall, and the small tub bath was almost entirely water, which was a real pain. 😖 It took quite a while to warm up, so I took a long soak, but I still wasn't warm, so I moved to the indoor bath, which was warmer than the open-air bath, which was nice. When I used the shower to wash my body, the water pressure was quite weak, making it difficult to rinse off the shampoo bubbles, which was a bit of an annoyance. You can see the ocean at Ajigaura from the open-air bath, but I felt that Yu〇no-Sato, where you can view the ocean while soaking, was by far the better choice. I went in as soon as it opened, so the water temperature might not have risen yet, but it was a bit disappointing during this time of winter.

One of the best osens in Japan. You can see the sea from the osen. The water is salty and makes your skin feel so soft and smooth. There’s a wide variety of environments…indoor pools, outdoor pools, sunny, shaded, hot, warm and cold waters and it’s so relaxing and comfortable. Towels are available for a small fee if you don’t bring your own. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap is provided. All the staff (osen & restaurant) are friendly, helpful and professional ✨. The view in the restaurant is wonderful…you can see the sea while you’re eating. Food service and selection is great 👍🏽 and delicious. There’s free parking. And there’s the traditional milk vending machine for afterwards 😋I really enjoyed this osen…I even made a new friend (local lady)😄😃. The osen fee is reasonable for what you get. And with the wrist band scanning, you don’t need to carry money around. Highly recommend this osen if you’re in the area.

For foreigners wanting to visit, please be aware it does not say on their website that tattoos are not allowed and they also do not have any English about it either. If you have tattoos, you will be asked to leave and you cannot get your money back. I understand the culture of Japan, but please have English available for foreign tourists.

The really heavily salted water was very special and my skin felt cleansed and smooth after. The next morning some dead skin could even be rubbed off!! Relaxing and homely, great prices. Beware if you don’t live close by as no cabs are available late in the evening and it is a very dark 15 minute walk to the nearest station.

I have a experience at here onsen, Little bit small. So wait to bath before enter to onsen,Because it was Golden week day. but at normal day I think not rough.
