Good onsen in Okinawa!! You don’t have a lot of choice for hot springs in Okinawa compared to mainland Japan, but I’m glad to say it was great experience. Good sized hot springs with good view of nagakusuku bay. Some details I liked: - fresh milk and chocolate milk from vending machine ¥150 - hair tonic is good quality - a chillout area on second floor of building free to use.. I recommend coming here after your hot spring session.. pay ¥300 for 13 minutes on the Aioi massage chair or just laze on the lie flat red chairs. So quiet and no one will disturb you. - decent cafe on ground floor beside registration entrance. Free hot water and tea also. I booked with the Yuinchi hotel next door so I got unlimited use of onsen. Mix of locals and foreigners but polite and respectful even in the naked area. Overall I think it is a good balance between quality and price point. Would recommend. EDIT: spoke to my family member who went to the onsen with me, we both used the male onsen. During that time, there was a female cleaner in attendance. This is the first time in Japan that I saw a person of the opposite sex working in the baths and changing area of the onsen. There was also no sign outside that warned us about the female cleaner in attendance. Is this usual for Japanese? I was not perturbed, but my family member felt uneasy as if we allowed a female worker in the naked males only section of the onsen, or vice versa with the genders, then what is the point of separating public onsens for males and females anymore?

During our stay at Yuinchi Hotel Nanjo, we made time to visit Apeman Spa, the hotel’s natural hot spring—and it ended up being one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. The hot spring water here is the real deal. It comes from over 2,000 meters underground and has this golden-yellow tint that makes it look and feel incredibly rich. You could tell it wasn’t artificially treated—it just felt natural and healing the moment you stepped in. What really took our breath away was the view. While soaking in the open-air bath, we were treated to a panoramic sight of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding city of Nanjo. It was calm, peaceful, and truly one of those “wow” moments that stay with you. We also tried the private onsen room, which was perfect for our family. It came with its own little lounge, sofa, and even a TV. Great for relaxing in a more personal space. There’s also a lounge upstairs for resting after your soak, and even vending machines with fresh milk and drinks—something I always look forward to after an onsen. The staff were friendly, and everything was clean and well-maintained. We ended up spending way more time here than we planned. It was that relaxing. Honestly, if you’re ever staying at Yuinchi Hotel or visiting Nanjo, this is something you should definitely experience. It felt like a hidden gem tucked into the hillside.

The view from the onsen is mind-blowing well worth the trip. Wide open space try sitting under the pelting waterfall...just across the road from Nanjo City Hall bus stop about $20 AUD to use onsen..massage facilities and relax and recline area..no tattoos. I enjoyed it so much I went twice my body felt brand new after!

All the Americans giving 1 star reviews due to their no tattoo policy should get a grip and remember who's cultural norms they should be respecting. I am thankful I don't need to share the facilities with them. Always enjoyed this onsen, beautiful view, perfect temperature and attentive staff.

This is the real thing! Volcanic salty mineral baths of varying temperatures. A classic but modern onsen. Maybe I've seen more beautiful onsen, but none have better water. Sauna extremely hot. Wonderful fairly priced massage available. You will never want to leave!
