Arimatsu Onsen Kita

[A super hot spring with lots of locals] I had some business in Midori Ward, so I searched for this hot spring and visited for the first time. I arrived around 4:30 PM on a Saturday. Adult admission was 850 yen, and towel rentals were 350 yen. The changing room wasn't too crowded, and I was able to find a locker right away. I was intrigued by the reviews that it was a tower sauna, but when I went inside, it was just a regular five-story sauna, so I wondered what tower meant. (lol) It was crowded, but the sauna was about 80% full, and regulars were chatting happily with each other. I wonder if it's quite painful for people who prefer quiet in the sauna? The cold bath was set to about 17 degrees. There seemed to be a few chairs here and there in the relaxation area. The relaxation area was often empty, but I think it might be full if you come at the same time. The carbonated spring is a popular relaxation spot for local grandmothers, and it's always full. The shower area wasn't crowded, so I was able to wash quickly. There was no wait at the final hair drying area, so I was able to dry my hair right away. There were quite a few children there, but it may have been due to the time of day or the day of the week. For those who mainly use the sauna, it has the image of a local public bath, so it feels like you have to use the sauna in a noisy environment. I would like to go again if there was one nearby.

I've been toting around various nearby super sento recently, and this one is pretty good. According to reviews, lockers used to cost 100 yen, but now they just have the standard lock system. Shoe lockers are also a common type, along with weight-sensing types. The baths are commensurate in size with the price, but there are a fair number of options, including an open-air bath, a reclining bath, a carbonated bath, a high-temperature sauna, and even a bedrock bath (perhaps the original one with a slightly larger flow of water?). They don't have manga or anything like that, but they do have a small game corner. The food is also delicious and satisfying. If you're not looking to stay long and read manga, but just want to enjoy the baths and have some delicious food, this is a super sento that will leave you very satisfied.

The system involves purchasing bath tickets at a vending machine at the entrance. It's nice that they accept credit cards. Towels are sold separately, but shampoo and soap are provided. The floor area isn't very large, but the high ceilings and natural light from the stairwell make it feel spacious. The same goes for the changing room and bathroom; it feels a bit cluttered, but the high ceilings prevent it from feeling cramped. The bathtubs are small but numerous and varied. There are temperature differences, and the hotter tubs are genuinely hot. The changing room is also nice and cool. The vending machine in the changing room has both hot and cold drinks, which is impressive. Overall, the wide variety of choices is a plus.

The Kitanoyu brand is a reliable choice👍 Kitanoyu, a chain of spas in the Nagoya area, is my personal favorite. They offer everything you'd expect from a spa, including a variety of baths, dining options, and massages. I don't think they'll disappoint!😃 The only thing unique to Arimatsu is the rock sauna in the open-air area, which is available for an entrance fee. I purchased a ticket for 700 yen on a weekday through the ASOVIEW app, which included a hand towel. The free hand towel was a nice bonus. I visited on a weekday evening, so I was able to relax a bit, but the sauna was packed to the brim, with no place to sit. If it's like this on a weekday, I'd probably avoid it on the weekend. It's not a problem with the facilities, but I was bothered by the older men who seemed to be regulars who were constantly talking inside the sauna. There was a sign outside the sauna that said "silent bathing," but there was no sign inside, so I thought it might be a little more effective. I personally like the warming tub bath.
