A great value hot spring inn. Highly recommend the dinner! It's 4300 yen per person, and the beef portion was generous and delicious! The vegetable plating was so cool! I stayed three nights and regretted only eating dinner one day; I should have had sukiyaki one day and shabu-shabu the next! The rooms are traditional Japanese-style rooms in the main building. You make your own bed. It felt a bit cramped for three people, but about right for two. There were very few electrical outlets in the room, and some were blocked by the table. Luckily, you can borrow extension cords from the owner. The first night, there were just not enough outlets for the three of us! Guests get free access to the Hira Onsen in the main building. You can reserve a time slot for one hour, like having the whole place to yourself. If it's available at other times, you can continue soaking. It's very comfortable, but the changing room is a bit cold, and the bidet toilets don't seem to be suitable for washing your bottom. There are also showers available if you don't want to soak in the onsen. Oh, speaking of toilets, there are two separate toilets, but they are super cold without heating! I went in January, and every time I went to the toilet, my bottom was freezing! It's a bit of a trauma. There's a shared refrigerator for guests, but it's not very big and might not be enough if there are many guests. Breakfast seems to be the same: yogurt + drink (optional) + bread + omelet + bacon, plus a plate of bread. It's delicious, but it's the same every day for three days, so I got a little tired of it after a while… The hotel owner seems to live in a room behind the kitchen, but you don't really run into him. We often ate groceries from the supermarket while using our phones after showering in the evenings, which was quite comfortable. Despite mentioning several drawbacks, I still highly recommend this place. I'd love to stay here again just for its dinner.

After checking in, we enjoyed the hot springs in our room, and then moved to the dinner venue at 7pm. We sat at a table in the modern room, quenched our thirst with a draft beer, and then started dinner. Let's get started. •Dinner Our dinner consisted of appetizers such as smelt tsukudani (simmered in soy sauce), and Omi beef and vegetable shabu-shabu. The appetizers were smelt tsukudani, cucumber with miso paste, and chikuwa (fish cakes) with cheese, which was a bit bland. The vegetables for the shabu-shabu included lettuce, spinach, green onions, daikon radish, and mushrooms such as king oyster mushrooms. We added the many vegetables first and waited for them to cook, but the lettuce was sweet and delicious! It was my first time trying boiled lettuce, and it was easy to eat, so I finished all the vegetables in no time and then added the Omi beef. The Omi beef, which had just the right amount of fat, was submerged in hot water, soft and sweet, and delicious. Thank you for the meal. The boiled lettuce we received for the first time was sweet and had a great texture, and we both finished the large portion of vegetables! After finishing the vegetables, we had the Omi beef, which was delicious and we were able to finish the beef without getting bored. We were very satisfied with our inn in Shiga Prefecture, with the hot spring water directly from the source in the room bath and the Omi beef shabu-shabu.

I stayed here for business, staying overnight without meals. I had work scheduled near Otsu City, so I searched for accommodations within the city and booked this one. Although it's in Otsu City, it's closer to Takashima City and located near the lake, so it's about 30-40 minutes from Kyoto and Otsu City. I stayed in the main building, and I was intrigued to learn that both the hot spring and the main building were built and excavated by the previous owner. On the other hand, if you didn't know that, you'd wonder why everything is so handmade? On the other hand, when I learned that the previous owner dug the hot spring and built the building with great enthusiasm, I couldn't help but laugh at his enthusiasm, lol. I stayed in a room on the first floor, but there weren't many outlets in the room, which made it a bit inconvenient for working on my laptop. (Wi-Fi was available, which was helpful.) The hot spring is open 24 hours a day, and you can use it by reservation, so I went in at night and in the morning. I was impressed by how smooth and clean my skin felt. It may not be suitable for those looking for the latest facilities and luxury hotel amenities, but it may be just right for those looking for a pleasant hot spring and a quiet space.

We stayed in a pet-friendly cottage for two nights because we were traveling with our Chihuahua. It was great that they provided a pet cage, toilet sheets, wet wipes, etc. The room was very clean, and best of all, we could bathe in the free-flowing hot spring bath at any time. Also, when I booked on Jalan, it said there was no hair dryer, but there was one. Cleansing cream, facial cleanser, lotion, lotion (POLA), free bottled water, and several types of coffee were also provided, so I would definitely stay here again next time. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that there was no washlet. Sorry about that. That's why I'm giving it four stars. I didn't order dinner this time, but the reviews are so good that I'll order it next time. Also, I encountered Japanese deer twice while driving at night. Be careful not to hit them.

This was my first time staying here! We stayed in a cottage. It was convenient to be able to park our car right in front of the cottage. The room was very clean, and the amenities were excellent. The pajamas were similar to those provided at some hotels. For dinner, we had a BBQ in the main building. The Omi beef was delicious, and the portions were so generous that we could barely finish it! I thought the breakfast portion was a little small, but since we had eaten too much the night before, it was just right (lol) (the bread was delicious!). All the staff were very friendly. And the hot spring in our room had such good water that I went in many times (lol). I would like to stay here again when we go swimming in the lake in the summer. We love animals, so the dogs at the cafe were adorable! (lol)
