Hikari Onsen

I visited the bathhouse for the first time since its renovation on March 28, 2025. Adult admission is 450 yen. I thought the reception, changing rooms, walls, and ceilings were brighter and cleaner. It was after 9 p.m., so there weren't many customers, and I was able to relax in the sauna and cold bath. The open-air cold bath was spacious and comfortable, and I love it. Having a public bathhouse in your neighborhood must be a real luxury. It's so great to have one just a few minutes' walk away, and I hope it continues for a long time. The bathhouse reopened on June 20, 2022, after a brief closure due to renovations under a new owner. It's a rare public bathhouse, even in Niihama City! It's small, but it has a sauna, and the open-air cold bath is large and very comfortable. There's also a regular open-air bath, so you can relax in it. It's conveniently located near City Hall.

I visited here on a business trip. ・Entry fee: ¥450 ・Shampoo: ¥100 ・Soap bar: ¥30 ・Hair dryer use: ¥10 for 3 minutes Put your shoes in the locker at the entrance and pay the entry fee at the reception. There's a ticket machine, but cash is also accepted. ~Indoor hot spring~ Two hot springs, three jet baths, and one cold bath Sauna, steam sauna The washing area has space for about 10 people ~Open-air bath [enclosed by a wall with only the sky visible]~ One hot spring, one cold bath That's it. It's rare to see an open-air bath with a cold bath, so it felt very open and comfortable. 😌 I highly recommend this hot spring.

This is my second time here. I go to the public bath when it's so cold I want to skip the bath.♨️ It depends on the day, but it seems to get crowded around 7pm. The parking lot was completely full, and I had to wander around trying to find a place to park. Adult: 450 yen Amenities like shampoo are also available from the ticket machine. Some of the numbers on the women's lockers have been erased, so I wish they would add them. Other than that, it's clean and comfortable. The sauna is quite hot, so it looks like you might get overheated, but it's a good place for sauna lovers.

There's a variety of baths, including lukewarm bubble baths, hot water, a cold bath, a semi-open-air bath, a sauna, and steam, all for just 400 yen! They also have soap starting at 20 yen. They change the water every day, so the water is clean, and the bathroom is relatively clean. I stopped in thinking it was a public bath, but is it actually a hot spring? The sulfur smell was soothing. I want to come again. If I lived nearby, I might come every day. It was a great bath. Thank you for the meal.

The facilities are very nice. In terms of size, it feels like a small to medium-sized town bathhouse. I think children from elementary school age can enter, but it may be a little hot for younger children. There is also a steam sauna, but it is quite old, so if you have high expectations you may be disappointed. I don't use the dry sauna myself, so I don't know. There is no area like a rest area. Overall, I think it is very good value for money.
