Hiuchi

December 30, 2025 - First Time Visit I'd heard about this place before, but when I saw that the open-air bath had reopened, I decided to check it out. Both the shoe locker and locker cost 100 yen (they're refundable). No shampoo or other amenities were provided, and the weekend fee was 800 yen. Maybe because it was the end of the year, there were quite a few customers. The indoor bath is incredibly spacious. As for the sauna, it was large enough to fit about 20 people, but there weren't enough seats on the upper level, so I couldn't sit in any of the three sets. I felt that the lower level wasn't hot enough for me, which was disappointing. There were chairs for resting both inside and outside, and even inside in cold weather, which was nice. The steam sauna and open-air bath were also available, and there seemed to be more space in the back, but it was closed off. Unfortunately, something happened while I was getting changed after getting out of the bath. I saw an elderly person using a hair dryer while naked, using it on their crotch and buttocks in addition to their hair. It's truly unfortunate that there are people with such poor manners. I hope that if staff see this, they will warn people or put up a sign or something. The lobby is spacious and has plenty of chairs, so it looks like you can relax after your bath. There is also a restaurant on site.

When I first stepped into the large public bath, I was surprised to see a huge bath in the middle, and I was so excited, "Wow, it's huge!" But... The indoor bath consisted of just the main bath, a jet bath, and a cold bath, while the open-air bath only had a cold bath. There were two other baths, but they had no hot water in them and were unusable... I was shocked to see that the open-air bath area only had a cold bath... And the other baths were unusable. It seemed like it hadn't been maintained very well, which was a real shame. The jet bath had a strangely appealing name, "Magnum Jet," which sounds really strong. They should have named it "Super Magnum Jet Alpha Ultimate 3" or something.

I visited the facility in the evening on Sunday, February 1st. Due to construction work on one side of the bath, only the men's bath ♨️ was open that day. Although only the men's bath ♨️ was open, it was crowded with people because it was a Sunday. The sauna, cold bath, and hot spring ♨️ were all great!! However, please note that you need to pay 100 yen to use the shoe lockers and lockers 🛅 (refundable), and there is no shampoo🧴 or body soap provided in the bathrooms! P.S. I hope the construction is finished soon so that both men and women can use the baths again!!

I went to Hiuchi no Yu in Saijo City. Upon entering, the lobby was clean and spacious. The bathing area was large (it's the second largest bath in Shikoku among the super hot springs I've visited). There was also a Magnum Jet, which was fun. There was one electric bath, which, if done correctly, could really loosen up your shoulders. The dry sauna was at a comfortable temperature and was large enough to fit about 25 people at once. The only downside was that the mist sauna, open-air bath, and waterfall shower were unavailable. The indoor bath was good, though.

The appearance is reminiscent of an old health spa. The interior is a little old, but it's spacious and relaxing. The bath is huge. This is a real large public bath. The big tub is very comfortable. It also feels like a hot spring. The sauna is pretty good too. There's even a mist sauna. But the biggest disappointment is that there is no hot water in the open-air bath. Even though the bath is set in a Japanese-style garden, there is no hot water. I wish they would fix the open-air bath. What a shame.
