Clean and spacious. The baths are sizeable and the outdoor bath is attractively done up with rocks. The price is very affordable at ¥210 per adult. The lady at the reception was friendly. Lockers for footwear and personal belongings are available at ¥100 each. No toiletries. Hairdryers are available for ¥0.30 for 3 minutes. There are two parking areas to cater to the constant flow of locals to the onsen. This onsen is closed every first Wednesday of each month.

Simple spring water and rotenburo is good ! Very cheap 300 yen and very close to bus stop. If you are going for functional onsen hopping then Hirota onsen is best to start with simple spring first and then acidic spring is very close to it by the same name .

Very nice experience at Horita Onsen in June 2025 after walking all the way from Beppu Tower. The outdoor area is very nice, the space is clean, and people and staff are very welcoming.

Nice, small hot spring. Very affordable price, but you need to bring your own towels and toiletries. There’s an indoor bath and an outdoor bath.
