池田温泉本館

It's a traditional public bath-style hot spring♪ (By the way, the new building is a traditional super-public bath-style hot spring, lol) The water is simply amazing! It's a little slippery, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth after a bath!! The water temperature is low, making it a relaxing spot to soak and enjoy the view. If the open-air bath is too lukewarm, the indoor bath is a little warmer, so you can adjust the temperature there. lol However, the showers, likely to conserve water, stop after about 5 seconds, so even shampooing requires skill. lol The entrance fee has increased slightly to 700 yen (←more payment options have been added), but since this price includes access to the indoor and outdoor baths and sauna, I still think it's a reasonable price. 😊 Only shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a hair dryer are provided on-site. It seems that many people bring their own bathing kits. Relaxing in a nice hot bath while gazing at the mountains and greenery refreshes both body and mind...it's the best! ↓↓↓ The other day, I forgot something and contacted them, and they responded immediately... When I came to retrieve my luggage, they were very kind, even though I had caused them trouble. They even stored my jewelry in a separate bag to prevent it from getting lost, and I was so touched by their thoughtfulness! Thank you so much m(_ _)m
The building was clean and comfortable. The unique hot spring water seemed good for the skin, and the chlorine smell wasn't as strong as others had mentioned; it wasn't bothersome at all. I think even the faucets and showers in the washing area might have been from the hot spring. The indoor bath was pleasantly hot, and the standing jet bath was great for relieving tired spots with powerful jets. There was also a deep bathtub where you could sit, but it might be a little difficult for multiple people to use at the same time. There were people there, but it wasn't so crowded that it was impossible to get in. The open-air bath was lukewarm, perfect for a long soak. There seemed to be a sauna as well, but I didn't use it this time. The waiting room was also clean, and you can relax while watching local TV and enjoy the classic coffee milk. The parking lot was almost full, probably because it was Sunday night, so I was lucky to find a spot. It was also a good size for a quick bath if you have limited time. Free hairdryers are also available. My body felt lighter after walking around, and I lost 0.35 kg before and after the bath.
I visited for the first time on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, around 7:00 PM. The new building was closed, so I used the main building. The water had a very strong hot spring feel, and it felt slippery and clung to my skin, giving me the best "hot spring" feeling I've ever experienced. The price is 700 yen on weekdays and 800 yen on weekends, with face towels costing 250 yen and bath towels costing 660 yen, which is very reasonable. It gives the impression of being a traditional hot spring beloved by locals. The changing room and rest area are quite small, and it seems like it would be crowded on weekends, so I honestly wouldn't want to go. The baths seem to be alternated between men and women, and the open-air bath was relatively spacious. It's a very satisfying hot spring experience on a weekday. The new building is apparently spacious and new, so I'd like to go there next time. It's a little far from Osaka, but it's definitely a hot spring I'd like to stop by again on my way back from Gifu.
Of particular note is the quality of the spring water. When you pour hot water onto your hands, you'll feel a unique viscosity, as if the water is gliding smoothly over your skin without any resistance. This is due to the spring's pure baking soda hot spring (sodium bicarbonate hot spring), which is rare nationwide. The baking soda components emulsify the dead skin cells and sebum on the surface of the skin, leaving your skin incredibly smooth even while bathing. This is an exquisite bath that truly offers a "natural cleansing effect." The changing rooms are a bit small due to the structure of the facility, but this is a minor issue when you consider the excellent quality of the spring water. Including the warming and moisturizing effects after bathing, it makes for an impeccable experience.
This photo was taken at the end of November. 📸 At the entrance to the main building's parking lot, there's a spot where you can take photos of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. I guess they call it Shikizakura. Aside from the hot springs, here's some other great information! 🌸 As everyone has commented, I think the hot springs are highly rated. 5 stars. Because the water is pure hot spring water, only general indications can be listed on the sign. The total dissolved substances are less than 1000 ppm. And yet, after soaking for a while, bubbles form on your skin, and the smooth feeling is even stronger than the pH value. This hot spring has a high overall quality that can't be expressed in numbers. Although it's new, I tried to write a comment like a hot spring sommelier. (^^)
