Free outdoor onsen. Very nice view with onsen water flowing out to the lake. But when we visited, lots of algae floating around and surrounding ground was muddy. No shower facilities just 2 simple separate changing rooms for female & male. Free parking right at the onsen.

Pretty scenery, but would not recommend for bathing. There's was a mysterious and disgusting film of grease on the water... then along came a mob of jet skiiers. Mystery solved. Maybe this is what the algae thrives on.

A truly magical place. We arrived at around 6pm as the sun was starting to set. We had it all to ourselves and enjoyed every minute. The water was a perfect temperature and the atmosphere was vey peaceful.

Early January 2025. Very pretty drive to get here. Quick run from the rustic wooden changing shed. Lovely warm water while the snow gently fell. Bliss!

Please dont go. Only go if you want to be covered in stinky mossy algae for the rest of the day
