Irihataonsen Semenoyu

I used this facility on December 30th, 2023, on my way back from Geto Kogen Ski Resort. Day-use bathing is 400 yen. For an additional 600 yen, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat curry (self-service). It also includes fried white fish, miso soup, and coffee. The all-you-can-eat option is available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There was a bit of a wait because they seemed to be having trouble keeping up with cooking the rice, but for a bath and a light snack, 1000 yen in total was a good deal. Located on the right bank of the stream downstream from the Irihata Dam embankment, the bath is indoors only. The view of the mountains on the opposite bank of the stream unfolds through the glass. The changing room has shelves with baskets in 3 rows of 4 compartments each, and there are 8 lockers for valuables. There are 3 sinks and 2 hair dryers on each side. The bathroom has rinse-in shampoo and body soap. When using the shower, be careful not to let the water temperature rise too quickly. The bath area is partitioned off from the old-fashioned electric bath. If you're just looking to sweat it out and not particularly concerned about the water quality, it's perfectly adequate. They don't operate during the summer; they're only open from December to March during the ski season. It's about a 15-minute drive from Geto Kogen Ski Resort. The staff's attentiveness, consideration, and helpfulness are excellent.

I stayed here for a business trip in mid-March. I booked two rooms on Rakuten for two nights on Friday and Saturday, with two meals per person, for just over 18,000 yen per person. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but the rooms were rather old-fashioned Japanese-style and located on the mountain side. The hot spring is open except between 10:00 PM and midnight, and as they also offer day trips, it was very spacious and nice. (The showers and other amenities are a bit old, but that's unavoidable.) The meals were not small portions of a few side dishes and sashimi, but large pots. I had pork shabu-shabu on the first day and shottsuru nabe on the second day, and they were so filling that I ended up overeating. I'd definitely like to stay here again if I have the chance.

[Excellent Value for Money] We were picked up from JR Kitakami Station and arrived in about 30 minutes by car. Our trip was for skiing, and we were also provided with transportation to Geto Kogen Ski Resort (about 15 minutes away), allowing us to fully enjoy our skiing trip without any inconvenience. The inn had a traditional feel and was very relaxing, and the staff were all very friendly. We didn't have high expectations for dinner given the low price, but it was delicious and our whole family was very satisfied. Overall, it was excellent value for money, and we will definitely stay here again when we go to Geto Kogen Ski Resort. Thank you very much.

We stopped off at a day spa on our way back from snowboarding with Geto. The bath itself was neither small nor large, but I was mostly alone in the women's bath, so we had it all to ourselves. The water was the perfect temperature, and I felt like I wanted to stay in it forever, but we didn't have much time, so reluctantly we had to leave. On the way back, there was snow on the uphill slope to the road, which made it difficult to climb, but the staff at the facility said, "If you can't make it, just let us know. We'll tow you away." The bath was great, the staff were nice, and the lady at reception was easygoing. I'd definitely like to go again.

I used it for a day trip in January. The view from the bathroom was amazing, and it seemed like I could enjoy the fresh greenery and autumn leaves. Someone's review that "the shower has hot water" was very helpful. The temperature control is indeed delicate, so it's important to use it with sufficient adjustment. When I went in the summer of 2023, there was a sign saying that it was closed and only open during the winter, which was disappointing.
