Isedoutai Onsen Jomon no Yu

I've been using this hotel for many years, but it's unfortunate that the food has deteriorated in the mornings and evenings. Previously, the meals were as good as those at a luxury inn, and I could enjoy them even if I stayed for several nights, but now it seems like they don't understand the balance (concept) of the food, and are just making do with the number of small dishes and hot pots. Cleaning has also improved, with red mold appearing in the bathroom! There's blood on the bath towels, and the bedding is unstarched and the collars are loose. It's so disappointing that it's lost much of its former comfort. The lunch was incredibly delicious, though. Please consider this.

Great hidden gem. Just beware, it is cash only! (2024) I had no expectations at all. The staff were really helpful - I was very tired after a long day in the mountains, and they noticed I had left my bike unlocked and made sure it was safe for me, and helped me with the laundry machine. They were friendly and patient. Rooms are simple but clean. The restaurant inside was reasonably priced and tasty with big portions. I had Oyakodon (chicken and egg on rice) and Tonkatsu Teishoku set. The outdoor bath was nice too. The location is close to the road and convenient if you have a bicycle or vehicle, but is a little bit further from the town if you want to walk.

I used the day-trip bathing and lunch service. I heard there was a discount on the bathing fee, and when I tried to ask at the counter, they seemed busy, so I bought it at the regular price. There are baths with different temperatures, a sauna, and an open-air bath, and plenty of washing areas, so I don't think it gets crowded. For lunch, I ordered the daily special, a fried shrimp and egg set meal, at the attached restaurant. I'm usually the one making the food on the ceramic plate, but eating it was a learning experience.

I used the hot spring for a day trip. I went on a Sunday evening and it was extremely crowded. The changing room and washing area felt a little cramped (the washing area is quite close to the next person, so be careful when showering). The hot spring smelled nice, and if it hadn't been so crowded, I would have liked to have spent more time in the bath. The lockers in the changing room don't refund coins, so it's best not to bring valuables with you (you do get your coins back in the shoe lockers).

My father used to go there, but he got sick and was hospitalized, so he left his stamp ticket behind. Around summer, the boiler broke down, so he had two choices: my bath at home or Jomon's. I was worried about the ticket, so I went to Jomon's. The stamp ticket was still valid, but... I ended up washing one of the two 😢. But with the remaining one, my son and I are using it together 😄 It's given my father more fun. Thank you very much 🥰
