五和温泉 潮源之湯

This hot spring facility also has a community space. The staff welcomed us warmly, which was very comforting. The entrance fee is paid further inside. After putting our shoes in the shoe lockers, we were shown inside. The bathroom was large enough for 3-4 people, and there were two washing areas. They also provided body soap, soap, shampoo and conditioner, which was very helpful. The changing room is not very large, but there is a sense of mutual consideration among users, creating a very nice atmosphere. There was also a hair dryer. The water was of very good quality, smooth and left me feeling warm and refreshed after getting out of the bath. I will visit again.

It's located in what looks like a separate building of a nursing home. It's only open on weekends, and is very cheap at 200 yen these days. If you go a little to the left after entering the entrance, you'll find the reception desk, where you can write your name and address. There's only an indoor bath, with a washing area big enough for two people, and a bathtub that can fit five people. It's not particularly charming, but it was new and clean. The water was clear and colorless, but it looked slightly greenish. It was quite slippery, and was good for the skin.

Gowa Onsen Chogen-no-Yu It's located within walking distance of Gokaku Station. Surprisingly, there's actually a bus stop within walking distance. You can also take the hot water home with you, free of charge. The bathroom is small, allowing only four people at a time. If there are more people, you'll have to wait in the rest area. Rest areas are free. The water is rich in minerals, and it's said to have first emerged during the Edo period. The staff are two young ladies. This wonderful hot spring has short business hours, only open on weekends.

It's a small facility, but it's new and has a homey atmosphere. Kind elderly people work there as staff. There's only one bathtub, and it's full with just three adults. The water quality is wonderful; you can feel the smooth, silky texture on your skin the moment you get in. It's a comfortable 40 degrees Celsius, so you tend to soak for a long time. There are no lockers, so it's best not to bring valuables just in case (although the area seems safe).

Open on weekends. I wanted to use the Oigawa Railway from Kanaya Station, but it's hard to find one beyond Shin-Kanaya Station. It's a little over a 3km walk from Shin-Kanaya Station, but the road is flat. The facility has two washing areas (showers). The bath is about the size of 4-5 people. The water is a little slippery.
