Jinzu Hot Spring

Today, I visited Jinzu Onsen, located on the border between Wakayama and Osaka prefectures. The hot springs are open until 8 PM, so I decided to visit early. The bathing fee is 900 yen. The water is a simple hot spring, but as you'll notice when you soak in it, it has a slightly tangible texture. It's great that it doesn't cool down easily and stays warm for a long time. And, depending on the season and time of day, the water changes color to blue, white, or green. How mystical! ♡ After warming up in this hot spring, let's have dinner at the restaurant next door. 😋 Both tatami rooms and table seating are available. To order, I pushed the ticket machine at the front desk❣ First, I ordered a medium-sized bottle of Asahi Beer.🥺 The menu I chose was the original Jinzu menu, supervised by Chef Tezuka, focusing on local ingredients. My family chose: - Botan Genghis Khan Meal (Wakayama) @¥1,800 - Inunaki Pork Ginger Pork Meal (Izumisano) @¥1,500 I chose: - Inunaki Pork Tofu Jjigae (with rice) @¥1,300 ♪ The botan is, needless to say, the meat from "Otokoto-no-Musama." The seasoning is sweet and spicy and delicious!♡ However, the meat is a little tough, which is unavoidable.💦 Inunaki pork has a strong pork flavor. The ginger pork and rice go perfectly together! 😋 The jjigae hotpot came with two large slices of tofu, making it the perfect snack to pair with your drinks. 🍺 It was more voluminous than I expected, so I ended up having another chuhai (lol). I finished off with jjigae and pork on rice! ‼ It was the perfect way to end a night of drinking. And there's even a fully equipped BBQ on the second floor. With a hot spring, a barrel sauna, and BBQ (local ingredients), it's perfect for groups and families. 👍 It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of town! ♬
A perfect hot spring and sauna for a short ride! 😊 Jinzu Onsen is about an hour's bike ride from central Osaka. The bathroom is simple, with only one indoor bath, but the water is rich and luxurious. Their greatest draw is the barrel sauna. It's generally open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for men, and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for women (the sauna is closed on Mondays, but is open on Happy Mondays). We recommend checking their Instagram before visiting. The temperature, around 70 degrees, isn't too high, making it perfect for sauna beginners, but even experienced sauna users will be thoroughly sweating after just 15 minutes. Enjoy a luxurious self-louver while gazing at the river below. Soaking in the spring-water cold bath, relaxing in an infinity chair while gazing at the sky and forest...you'll experience a luxurious relaxation you won't find in city saunas. If you're not a fan of cold baths, you can quickly rinse off the sweat in the shower and enjoy the open air. The staff are always smiling and friendly. I've always loved saunas, but I never owned a sauna hat. I finally bought a sauna hat that I've been wanting for a while! The Jintsu Sauna logo is a nice touch, so I tried it out straight away. My head didn't get too hot, and it feels great to wear. As a Jintsu Onsen fan, I'd like to use it when I visit various saunas in the future. As a motorcycle fan, I'm happy that they have a proper motorcycle parking area, which makes me feel welcome. This is my third time at the barrel sauna (I've been to the hot springs more than 10 times), and I'll definitely be back 👍
This is a small hot spring with only one indoor bath. The water is slightly slippery and alkaline. It's not too hot, so you can soak in it for a long time. I checked with the reception staff before taking photos and videos. I was only allowed in the sauna area, with the condition that no one else was around and that I didn't include other people in the photos. I was also given permission to post them on social media under the same conditions. I hope this information is helpful. I went there for the barrel sauna. Men are allowed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and women are allowed on a rotating basis. The bathing fee is 700 yen plus the rental sauna mat and complimentary water. You'll be given a key, which you insert into the door to the right of the changing room and turn to exit. Barrel sauna: 70°C. Cold bath: 18°C. Two reclining chairs. Two plastic chairs. Shower. When you enter the barrel sauna, there's a speaker playing jazz. Luggage storage. The sauna room is behind the next door. Capacity: about 6 people? You can see the river flowing from the window. The temperature was around 65-70°C. I didn't think it was a big deal, but after the loyly, it felt great. I started sweating. I went outside to take a shower. The cold bath is a little deep and slippery, so be careful the first time you get in. The thermometer read 19°C, but since it's spring water, it might be affected by the temperature. I don't like freezing cold baths, so this was just right. It's amazing that you can experience this for 700 yen. I've been going there quite often recently.
Visited in February 2026. Visited on a weekday evening. Only used the hot spring. There were only a few people there. It's about 10 minutes from the Kinokawa IC (Wakayama side) on the Keihanawa Expressway, and about 15 minutes from the Kaminogo IC (Osaka side) on the Hanwa Expressway. It's located on the Wakayama side of the prefectural border on the road that leads from Izumisano to Kinokawa. If you're coming from the Osaka side, it's just past Inunakiyama Onsen. Payment by cash only at the ticket machine was 900 yen. The water is classified as simple spring water, but it had a nice, strong hot spring feel. There were no signs indicating the addition of water (even if it was added, it still had a strong hot spring feel), heating (which is probably essential as the water temperature is low), circulation filtration (you can see the water flowing from inside the tub), or disinfection (there was no smell of disinfectant). There was only one fairly large bath. However, the water temperature was set just right (of course this will vary from person to person), and was just the right temperature, neither too hot nor too warm. From the bath, the river next to it was lit up (the sun had set), creating a nice atmosphere while soaking in the water. The only thing that's a shame is that there is no open-air bath.
Friday, July 2025. We also had lunch here. Tickets are issued from the ticket machine and cash only. The baths rotate on different days of the week, with women's sauna days on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The bathing fee is 900 yen. The sauna was an additional 700 yen (including a rental sauna mat and a bottle of water). My friend and I were there, so we essentially had the sauna to ourselves, which I thought was a great deal. The view and the ambiance of the facilities were great, and we even poured water on the stones on the stove for a loyly! We covered ourselves with a towel and wow! It felt so good! The cold bath was about 17°C, just right. The open-air bath chairs were also great! I'd love to come again!!! I think 900 yen for just bathing is a little pricey, but considering the sauna and the atmosphere, and the fact that it's essentially a private sauna, it felt quite reasonable, so I was very satisfied. The parking lot is large and has plenty of space, so there's no need to worry.
