The station has both trams and Shinkansen bullet trains; it looks quite new. There are elevators but no escalators, so if you have luggage, please take the elevator. There's a large supermarket, Abio City Kaga, on the left-hand side of the south exit; it's a great place to shop.

The station is fun just to look around, with Yamanaka lacquerware, Kutani ware, and lion dance heads on display inside. I went to Yamanaka and Yamashiro, but I think I'll try visiting the other areas mentioned on the information board next time.
