Kaneshimaonsen Fuki Hot Spring

There is a large free parking lot across the road from the building. Upon entering the building, you can choose between open shoe lockers on the right or 100-yen return shoe lockers on the left. The reception is directly in front, where you pay the bathing fee. The fee is 500 yen for adults, 200 yen for elementary school students, and 100 yen for infants. To the left is a rest area with free lockers for valuables and drink vending machines. The men's bath is marked with a navy blue noren curtain, the women's with a red noren curtain, and to the left of those are the restrooms. Going through the noren curtain into the changing room, you will find 100-yen return lockers on both sides. There are two sinks and two free hair dryers. To the right of the bathroom are five washing areas, each equipped with a temperature-adjustable shower, body soap, and rinse-in shampoo. The bathtub is made of wood with a wooden frame, and the water is heated at around 42°C. The water is directly from the hot spring and is heated only. The water has a slightly murky, iron-like smell and is soft and comfortable. Going outside, you'll also find an open-air rock-style bath with a roof. The water is about 40°C, perfect for long soaks. This facility, which offers free-flowing hot spring water for 500 yen, is packed with customers from the evening onwards, proving its popularity. We recommend it for those who enjoy free-flowing hot spring water.

This day-trip hot spring facility is within walking distance of Kanajima Station on the JR Agatsuma Line. On my first visit, it was too crowded and not relaxing, so this time I decided to visit as soon as it opened. Although it was a weekday, there were other customers (local regulars?) waiting before opening time, and the open-air bath quickly filled up. On the other hand, I was the only one using the indoor bath, so I was very happy to be able to enjoy the iron-rich water alone, which made my skin sting. The free lounge was also comfortable, and I was very satisfied even with my short stay. Another notable feature of this hot spring facility is the existence of the train viewing spot, "Ryusei Romance." From this room, you can see the Joetsu Shinkansen bridge that crosses the Agatsuma Line, and after sunset, I thought the concept of admiring the lights of the Shinkansen passing through the dark night as if they were shooting stars was wonderful. As an aside, the area where the Agatsuma Line and Joetsu Shinkansen intersect is a popular spot for taking photos of the Agatsuma Line, so it might be a good idea to relax at Fuki no Yu before or after taking photos.

100% free-flowing hot spring water ♨️ There are indoor and outdoor baths. The water is light green. There is no sauna or cold bath. There is also a rest room. The gentleman at the reception was kind. The outdoor bath was full with about five people. Unfortunately, when I tried to bathe, local elders were having a long conversation in the outdoor bath, so I couldn't get in. Adults pay 500 yen. The overall atmosphere is small and homey. The parking lot is spacious. Since it is on flat ground, the only view from the outdoor bath is of the sky.

The wooden indoor bath had a nice atmosphere, but it was very small. It was difficult to use when there were other customers. Also, it seems to be frequented by locals, so the guests started greeting each other and talking was quite loud. Since there was a sign saying "silent bathing," this is understandable as it is not the facility's fault, but I found it difficult to relax.
