Kanki Foot Bath

July 5, 2020 R7 Today, we're on another mini trip to revitalize our senior. This is Part 2. After enjoying soba noodles in Higashi-Osaka and Tokushima's hidden Iya region, it's time for senior's purification ritual. (Due to various circumstances, we're purifying our feet this time.) It's a hot day today, but what a surprise! This place! There's always a pleasant breeze! (Mt. Ikoma is great!) We enjoyed a relaxing foot bath, and chatted! And, all things considered, the place was almost full! Is this really relaxing?! (We definitely stayed for an hour!) We had a wonderful time! I'd like to come back on a colder day!

This free footbath is located in the welfare zone on a hill with great views of Ikoma City. The water appears to be a proper hot spring, and the temperature is just right. I was warm after about 30 minutes of soaking. In the middle of winter on the hill, your feet will be warm but your upper body will be cold, so warm clothing is essential. There are also toilets, a gazebo, and a foot reflexology massage facility. There is parking for 5-6 cars, but it tends to fill up on weekends. Visited in January 2025

I am running from Osaka to Nara during the spring time, the temperature sill very low, it was cold outside, i am so glad to see this "Free of charge" hot spring for foot. I then took off my running shoe, and immersed both of my leg into the water. It was so warm and nice. Although i could only put my legs into the water not the whole body, but my body also get warm in a short period of time. Thanks the hot spring owner! Well done to the tourist.

There's no entrance fee to the baths. Parking is also free, with space for 6 cars and a motorcycle parking area. There are toilets, and although it's just a footbath, I think it's a wonderful facility. I enjoyed a relaxing footbath while looking at Mount Ikoma to the west, and it was very healing. I did soak for a little too long, though, and my feet got itchy... Even though I visited on a weekday, there were quite a few people there. Wonderful.

There was only one group of elderly people there, and I was surprised to see them eating their lunch while soaking their feet. While I was there, about three other groups arrived. Maybe because it was a weekday, there weren't many people around, which was nice. I warmed up slowly. It's free to enter. I also walked barefoot on the health trail. It hurt, lol. I'll come again when it gets colder. It seems they also sell hot spring water.
