Katsuzakikan

This inn features a wood-fired bath and dishes made with fresh ingredients. It was completely renovated after the earthquake, and was very clean. The hallways are carpeted, making them easy to walk on and providing good insulation. However, it can still get cold in winter, and there are no slippers, so it's a good idea to bring your own or thick socks. The washroom (for 2-3 people) and Western-style toilets (one each for men and women) are shared. They are new and very clean. Meals are served in the dining area on the first floor, with a counter featuring a raised seating area/sunken kotatsu table. The staff were incredibly kind and shared lots of local stories, making for a very comfortable stay! We stayed for several nights, and the menus were different for breakfast and dinner each day. The sashimi, meat, and warm dishes were all absolutely delicious. The bath is cleaned once between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM and is bustling with locals until 9:00 PM, so it seems you can relax after that. In fact, we had it all to ourselves. On this day, I warmed up wonderfully in the herbal bath, and the water heated with firewood left my skin incredibly smooth the next morning. The innkeeper, who said she soaks in the bath every night before going home after 30 years of service, had beautiful, radiant, peachy skin! The IR Ishikawa Line from Kanazawa Station is easy to navigate, and although the trains are infrequent, it only takes about 20 minutes, making it a lovely inn recommended for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax.

The building is certainly old, giving it the feel of a traditional Japanese inn, but it was very clean and well-maintained. I only had breakfast, but it was delicious and very satisfying. Also, I traveled by motorcycle, and they provided a covered parking space, which allowed me to rest with peace of mind (motorcycle theft is common these days). The toilets are shared, and there's only a large communal bath (at least in my room), so those who are concerned about that should be aware. Also, the sound of footsteps echoed quite a bit, so those with small children might need to be careful.

The bath is comfortable and the food is delicious. The gentle, carefully prepared flavors are perfect for a relaxing day. The rice is shiny and fluffy, and I can see why they put so much effort into it. The building is old, but some parts have been renovated and it was well-maintained and clean. Everyone at the inn was very calm and kind, and I was able to spend a pleasant time there.

We had a very nice time here. We went here to visit Kanazawa and see some of the surrounding area. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The lady who prepared breakfast for us was very cheerful and immediately gave you a nice start to the day. The breakfast itself is truly more than five stars. Delicious food with a good cup of coffee. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

This ryokan is serving Kappo and a communal bath. The bath is heated up by wood logs. The food is Japanese cuisine and yummy. The served dishes are enough at dinner and breakfast. The accommodations are Japanese old style and enough and clean, but without having key. You should keep your valuables on your own or check them in to the desk. The charge is not so expensive.
