Kintaro Hot Spring

Curious as to why Kintaro was chosen, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible on the day I visited. 😥☔️ There were two entrances, so I was a little confused, but I guessed the answer. One of them appears to be the entrance to the family bath. I purchased a bath ticket from the ticket machine and, after a friendly greeting from the receptionist, headed to the changing room. The storage area for clothes baskets in the changing room is sideways, making it easy to put things in and take them out. When I entered the bath, the first thing that caught my eye was a painting of a bear on the wall with a somewhat unreadable expression. In the women's bath, there was a Kintaro with a similarly emotionless look. The shower faucets were fixed. The water pressure was quite strong, although it might have just been a coincidence that I was using the one I was using. Even the hotter bath didn't feel too hot, so I was able to soak in it for a long time. Perhaps because of the rain, there were only a few customers, so I was able to relax and enjoy the bath almost to myself. 😊 I let my guard down because it wasn't too hot, and I ended up soaking a little too long, and by the time I got out, I was sweating like crazy. 😅💦 In the end, I didn't understand the meaning of Kintaro, but the bath was so refreshing and refreshing that I didn't really mind.

We visited around 3pm. Perhaps because it was a quiet time, we were able to use the family bath without a reservation. It was 1,500 yen per hour. The receptionist was very friendly and recommended the popular wooden bath room, so we chose that one. Although it was old, it was clean and felt like visiting grandma's house. The hot spring water was a little hot, and it smelled like mall. A quick dip was enough to warm you up and leave you feeling very satisfied. The only problem was that the shower temperature couldn't be adjusted, as it was a hot spring. It was too hot. We mixed hot and cold water from the nearby tap in a bucket to wash the kids. If they had sold canned beer for after-bath use, it would have been 120 points!

This is a day-trip hot spring. The bathroom has a main bath, a hot bath, a cold bath, and a lukewarm waterfall bath. The shower in the washing area is fixed. The brown chloride spring water is common in Goshogawara. The wooden bathtub has a pleasant atmosphere. I often feel like I'm overheating, but there's also a cold bath and a lukewarm waterfall bath, so I find myself soaking in them over and over again, taking breaks in between. There's also a family bath, where you can get a better feel for the hot spring quality. There's a TV in the room, and drinking water is provided upon request at reception. The large public bath costs 400 yen, and is open 8:00am - 10:00pm (as of December 2023).

We used the family bath. The hot spring water is so abundant that it almost seems like it's flowing directly from the source. You can adjust the temperature with water, but we didn't want to waste it, so we just went in and lay down and enjoyed it. We could also open the window, so it felt like a small open-air bath. The room was small and old, but that didn't bother us at all when enjoying the hot spring. We booked an hour and a half for two people, but the hot spring was so pleasant that even one person could use that time. It was such a great hot spring that we'd like to try the large public bath next time.

The hot spring temperature and water quality are both great. 🥹 The reclining bath is comfortable, not too shallow or too deep. 🥹 I think two waterfalls are better than one. 🤔 The cold bath is cold. 🧊 I personally prefer it a little warmer. 🙄 → I prefer it to be as warm as Hanasaki Onsen in Hirosaki City. 👀 This is a great hot spring where you can warm up thoroughly, even without a sauna. It's perfect for warming up after a cold body. ☝️ A sauna would be the best.
