Kinunoyu Hot Spring

Daytime hot-springs facility offering pools, wet & dry saunas & a casual cafe with a tranquil feel.
I visited on a holiday evening. I wanted to go to a nearby hot spring for the first time in a while, but Spa Mezza in Nagareyama is still crowded and I can't relax, so I went to Kinu no Yu, which I'd seen reviews of. It's about a 10-minute drive from the Yawara Interchange and has a large parking lot. Perhaps because it was a holiday, it was almost full by 4:30 PM. However, there were a few cars out, likely due to the high turnover rate, so it felt like you could get in if you waited. The parking lot is located in the back, one block away from the main road. You pay the entrance fee and use the barcode you receive to store your valuables. Amenities are available for rental, but shampoo, lotion, and other amenities are provided. By the way, each adult receives a small Kinu no Yu towel. Apparently, the entrance fee is discounted with a membership card, and since my experience here was so good, I'll definitely return. The indoor bath itself is modest in size, and in addition to the main bath, there's a cold bath, an electric bath, a jet bath, and three other types of saunas, including a salt sauna. There were no lines like at Metsa, and although there were a few more people, this place was overwhelmingly more comfortable. The open-air bath was larger than I expected, and although I went back and forth several times, I was able to soak comfortably. There was a wait of about five groups at the restaurant after the bath, but the food was served fairly quickly once we got in. Another good point was that you could have a snack or drink standing up while waiting outside. The food was also delicious. It wasn't cheap at around 15,000 yen for a family of four, but it was a nice place where I felt it was nice to spend some time like this once in a while.
Great hot spring. Highly recommend going here. This place has three different saunas and uses individual mat towels for the dry sauna so you don't have to sit in someone else's sweat! That's a good thing. The outside area also has several types of baths with various temperatures. The restaurant is also quite nice offering fresh sashimi and delicious meals at reasonable prices. All in all this is one my favorite day hot springs to go to.
Good Onsen. This place is kept really clean and tidy. Three type of saunas. The salt sauna is my favorite. The Onsen quality is not bad. The water is smooth on the skin and has a hint of sulphur smell to it. They have some nice craft beer 🍺 on the tap from the local Hitachi Nest Brewery. If you are hungry you can also have a meal in the adjoining restaurant. A small farmers market has also been build next door.
Facility is pretty new. The onsen quality is alright- it has a sauna and good enough outdoor bath. Price is more expensive than regular hot springs around. Restaurant can seat about 60 people at once. They have reclining chairs with personal televisions upstairs so make sure to take advantage of that after leaving the bathing area. They sold soy sauce flavored soft cream so I enjoyed a cone after bathing.
きぬの湯 is a relaxing natural onsen with soft, skin-friendly water. It offers many indoor and outdoor baths, a carbonated bath, and several saunas. Clean, spacious, and well-equipped with dining and massage options—great for a peaceful day trip.
