Kitamoto Tennen Onsen Hana Hotel

I stayed in a Japanese-Western room (smoking) over a three-day weekend. Before heading to Moomin Valley Park, I searched for hotels on the day and booked a smoking room, as it was the only one available. The room had a Japanese-style section (with a low chair and table, and the ability to lay out a futon) and a Western-style section (with a bed), and it cost around 23,000 yen on a Saturday during a three-day weekend. At this price, I wouldn't revisit, but if it were under 20,000 yen, I would stay again. There was no towel rack or trash can by the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Parking: It was located along a two-lane road, so it was difficult to get in, but there were two parking lots, one first and one second, and they were open even late at night, so that was fine. Check-in: The front desk was open until midnight, which was helpful. I was happy to have free coffee in the lobby. However, there was no coffee in the room. Amenities: No cosmetics. The only thing there was a face mask, which was strange. A comb and razor were provided. You could also get tea bags here (not in the room), but toothbrushes were available by the sink. The large public bath is a rectangular tub that can fit only 5-6 people. Lockers with locks are provided. Don't expect anything other than a hot spring bath. Of course, there are no amenities, and the hair dryer is weak. The buffet is free, but the variety is good. However, there are no desserts. Cash only. Alcohol is available. There are no snacks available, so it's best to bring your own. Noise: There is a two-lane road in front, so trucks and other noise can be a bit of a problem. Children: The price includes children's loungewear and towel sets. There are no children's sizes available. I recommend bringing your own pajamas. This wasn't factored into the rating, but the bed smelled strongly of cigarettes. Every time I turned over in bed, the pillow smelt of cigarettes... (I stayed in a smoking room, so it's understandable, but it was the first time I'd ever experienced such a strong cigarette smell, even in a smoking room. Maybe it was just because of a heavy smoker?) ... It's a relatively new hotel with a hot spring and a buffet, and it's clean. It's also reasonably priced, which is great. Next time I stay, I'll definitely get a non-smoking room.

The grated yam for breakfast was amazing! ❣️ I was on a business trip and had to use this hotel on short notice... I was lucky enough to get a spacious room for 8,100 yen. I didn't read about the benefits, but the natural hot spring? was very relaxing and a great point! The location makes it difficult to go out drinking at night, so you need to be aware of this before using the hotel. The breakfast was particularly noteworthy. Even among the many business hotels offering free breakfast these days, this one was top-class in terms of taste and quality! I especially enjoyed the grated yam (or nagaimo?). I had two bowls of rice with just that. The rest of the menu was also excellent, and I was full from the morning! If only the location was better... I'd say... but overall I was satisfied. *There was no one there, so I apologize for taking a photo of the bath.

To sum up, I never want to stay here again for the following reasons. I had high expectations because of the high reviews, but I feel there's a reason why it was so cheap. - The two brown-haired women at the front desk at night were rude. - The front desk staff the next morning were nice. - The drain traps in the bath and toilet were bad, so there was a constant sewage smell that was unpleasant. - The walls were so thin that I could hear my neighbors snoring. - Despite being a newer hotel, the room smelled really bad. I felt it wasn't very clean. I like the free breakfast and low price. For people who just want a cheap night's sleep.

Other than the terrible location, I was very satisfied. The large public bath was great. There were a variety of amenities, which was nice. The breakfast was also good, considering it was free, and had a decent selection. The room was average size, with a simple sofa and table, which was very useful for eating and working. Also, there was a convenient space in front of the TV where you could put your wallet and other small items. It would have been perfect if there was a convenience store and supermarket within walking distance, but there were neither. There was a Mos Burger and a Ringer Hut.

I stayed three nights over the weekend. I needed a quiet environment to attend a lecture via Zoom, so I stayed at this hotel, even though it was close by. The building was clean, the room was clean, and although I brought my own amenities, they were all there, although I didn't use them. There was Wi-Fi, the breakfast was delicious, and the natural hot spring water was just right at around 42 degrees. Of course, the staff were courteous and had no problems. (^^) All in all, I had a very comfortable stay.
