Kodakara-no-Yu closed in September 2024 and reopened on December 6, 2025, after undergoing extensive renovations. Just like before, you can enter right after getting off the station. There's plenty of parking. Admission fees start at ¥800 for adults, with a ¥50 difference between morning and afternoon. There's an official LINE account, and registering will give you a ¥50 discount coupon you can use as many times as you like. The hot spring has one indoor bath, a small cold bath in front of the sauna, and two open-air baths. Both the facility and the hot spring are newly completed, so they're very clean. The sauna can only fit about four people, and there are no dedicated sauna mats. A unisex tower sauna with a panoramic view of the Nagara River will be opening in April 2026. However, reservations are required. The changing room felt small. It seems like it would get crowded just before opening. The locker doors would close automatically, which was a bit annoying. The storage space is also small, making it difficult to use. There is also a restaurant called Shokubo Oṃ, which seems to mainly serve Korean food.

Minami Kodakara Onsen will close and reopen as Enku no Yu in December 2025. It was one of my favorite hot springs, so I was looking forward to it. It remains directly connected to Minami Kodakara Onsen Station on the Nagaragawa Railway, making it extremely convenient for train users. The bath's design hasn't changed, but it has been renovated from its old-fashioned feel. The attached restaurant mainly serves Korean cuisine. It has also become more stylish, eliminating the rustic image of a hot spring restaurant. You order using the wristband you receive at reception and pay when you leave.

Celebrating its revival! (๑╹◡╹๑)ノ♬ I visited for the first time in 20 years. This hot spring is adjacent to Minami-Kotobuki Onsen Station on the Nagaragawa Railway. A smiling Enku statue greeted me at the entrance (☆▽☆). There's a stylish restaurant called Shokubo Om, and both the indoor and outdoor baths are great for relaxing, though the sauna is a bit small and can only fit four people, which is a shame (。ノω\。). However, I'm looking forward to a new one opening soon (人*´∀`)。*゚+ The previous train discount has been discontinued. It's 800 yen on weekdays and 850 yen on weekends.

I heard snow was forecast on August 11th, so I visited the open-air bath to enjoy the snow. ♨️ I spent about an hour in the open-air bath, repeatedly warming and cooling my body. The hot spring water wasn't thick or slippery, but rather unremarkable. Indoor bath, open-air bath, covered open-air bath, sauna, and cold bath. It's been renovated and is now clean, but the lockers and toilets are still the same. Weekend use costs 900 yen.

#PublicBathAccessibleByTrainBus Well-known among train enthusiasts, the hot spring "Kotobako Onsen Enku no Yu" is located next to Minami Kotobako Onsen Station on the Nagaragawa Railway. A traffic light will notify you when a train is approaching. After being closed for a while, it reopened in December 2025. Currently, there is only a small sauna, but a full-scale sauna tower is scheduled to be built in April 2026.
