This is my first stay since the resort closed. The location is excellent, ideal for hiking the Ishizuchi Mountain Range and other areas. There aren't many other facilities like this nearby. Previously, the rooms had TVs, refrigerators, deodorizing sprays, and insecticides, but these have been removed since the new management. I would have liked a refrigerator and deodorizing sprays and insecticides. Regarding meals, the travel site states that meals are served until 6:30 PM, but in reality, it seems that meals are available from 7 PM. I would appreciate it if the dinner time could be more accurate, as it affects my mountain plans. The food was delicious, but I can't expect the same level of service as before. The room rates have also increased. Some areas I would definitely like to see improved are that the exact time dinner is available be clearly stated, that many guests go mountain climbing the day after their stay so it would be nice if they could provide takeout items such as rice balls, that they could at least provide a tasting set of local sake to accompany dinner (the menu only states sake, but the brand is unknown), and that the reception staff be a little more frank rather than just formal. The person who helped us at breakfast was very hospitable, so I have given it a rating of ★★★ ⇒ ★★★★. The bath was as good as ever.

I wrote about this at Kinoka Roadside Station. This was the first time I took my parents here. We spent about three hours in the hot springs, and the sauna was also great. There's a convenient toilet (handicapped) and a restaurant on the premises. The restaurant also had limited-edition meals. The limited-edition meals were appealing, so I decided to try them while I was there. It was my first time trying the sauce-filled katsudon, but the thin meat still didn't feel like it was worth it, so I wish I'd ordered the tonkatsu set meal, lol. But it was so filling, I only managed to eat half, so I put it in a Tupperware container I happened to have in the car and secretly took it home for dinner. Coming from the Saijo area, there are several tunnels. I was surprised to find two extremely long tunnels and a slightly shorter one. There's a flowing river, and the water is shallower, so it's safer for small children to play in in the summer than the Kamogawa River in Saijo, and I'm sure they'll enjoy it. If I had known about this place when my kids were little, I'm sure they would have loved it, so I'm sad I couldn't take them.

Kinoka Roadside Station is located along National Route 194. The station offers hot springs, accommodation, local specialties, and a restaurant. I took a day trip to Kinoka Onsen. The fee is 800 yen for adults. There are indoor and outdoor baths, a sauna, and a cold bath. The indoor bath was a little lukewarm, which felt a little lacking on a cold winter day. I was hesitant to go into the outdoor bath because it was so cold outside, but I gave it my all and decided to try it. Surprisingly, the outdoor bath was hotter, and I enjoyed a comfortable, crisp bath in the hot water. The birds were chirping, which made me feel great. Some water from the bathtub splashed on my face and ended up in my mouth, and it had a very salty, astringent, and bitter taste. It was like condensed seawater. It's strange that it could be salty so deep in the mountains. By the way, the outdoor bath is completely open-air and has no roof, so it's not recommended for bad weather.
