Koto No Yu Onsen

It's best to choose your time carefully, and personally, I didn't find it particularly good. I went around 10 PM, but perhaps because it was late August? Was it a busy time? In any case, the timing was terrible. The showers were also crowded and sometimes occupied. The most troublesome thing is that there are only a few sinks in the changing room—less than 10—so you'll likely have to wait 10 minutes or more for a hairdryer. I couldn't wait, so I dried my hair in my room. Also, the amenities are commercial-grade. There's makeup remover at the sink, but it doesn't remove mascara. There is toner and lotion. (There is no makeup remover in the shower area.) Considering all this, if you want to save time, I think it's better to remove your makeup in your room before heading to the bath. Also, the Okura Hotel's rooms are fully equipped with amenities (DHC) and even have commercial-grade body cream. If you want to take a shower without worrying about others, your room is definitely better. Waiting takes a really long time, so I don't recommend it. It was so crowded that I couldn't relax, which was a shame. Next time, I'd like to go at a less busy time.

This hotel's hot spring is unusual for an official theme park hotel in that it uses water directly from the source! There's also an open-air bath, which is very relaxing. You put your slippers in a shoe locker to avoid mixing them up with others, and you receive large and small towels at the entrance, so you don't need to bring towels from your room every time. The amenities are also excellent. The hair dryer wasn't the usual low-power type, but a quick-drying one. The cleaning was thorough, and it was a very satisfying bathing experience.

It can get quite crowded during busy times, but the men's bath is never too crowded, and the facility is always clean. It can be a little annoying after foreign visitors have used it, but I think it's within acceptable limits. The water is bright red and seems to be effective for skin ailments, and it quickly healed insect bites. The price is a little high at 1,600 yen, but it includes Imabari towel rental, so I think it's reasonable for a facility adjacent to a theme park.

The price is high, so I went with high expectations, but it was like a potato slaughterhouse. I didn't feel at all relaxed. The changing room was over capacity, so it was like a sauna with too many people. There were many people waiting in line for the hair dryer. The hair dryer's airflow was weak, so it took a long time to dry. I think they should limit the number of people allowed in... It's a shame, because the service and fluffy towels provided were very good.
