Takamine Onsen's "Open-Air Bath Above the Clouds" is located 2,000 meters above sea level, and is a hot spring spot where you can enjoy a spectacular view that makes you feel as if you're floating in the sky! I had planned to gaze out at a sea of clouds or a starry sky while soaking in the tub, but unfortunately it was cloudy when I went. I'd like to try this place again! It's also said that the natural beauty of each season is also an attraction, and it shows a different face each time you visit, from fresh greenery to autumn leaves to snowy scenery! The hot spring is directly drawn from the source, and the water was gentle on the skin and warmed me to the core. In this tranquil space, you can forget the fatigue of everyday life and spend a blissful time healing your mind and body, so I highly recommend you try it! Try it on a sunny day!

A charming and secluded hot spring, truly deserving of the name "hidden gem." The view of the Takamine Valley below and the Central Alps and Utsukushigahara in the distance is truly spectacular. Soaking in the soft, cloudy water while listening to the calls of nightingales and cuckoos is an extraordinary experience. You can forget about time and truly enjoy the hot springs.

You carry your basket up from inside the inn. There were four baskets each for men and women. You walk about 50 meters up the mountain path and change clothes near the bath. There's a plastic sheet covering it, so the bath water doesn't easily get on your clothes. The water is quite hot, so you can't soak for long, but you can enjoy the view for a long time.

The open-air bath is 2000m above sea level and offers a spectacular view of the sea of clouds. At night, the inn brings out three giant telescopes 🔭 to observe the stars while listening to explanations about them, and we were even able to see Saturn's rings and Jupiter's lines. …

The open-air bath is located inside Lamp no Yado. As it is a small bath, only guests staying at the hotel can use it. A day trip to the hot spring costs 700 yen for adults (11:00-16:00) and you can use the indoor bath.
