Kushima Hot Spring.Relaxation Hall.

Visited in February 2026. During a car camping trip, I stopped off at this day spa on my way from Kushima to Kagoshima. It was lunchtime on a weekday, so both the men's and women's baths were empty. I was able to relax. I bought a bathing ticket from the ticket machine and went in, but while taking a break on my way back, I noticed a sign at reception saying that cashless payment was accepted. The ticket machine is up front, so if they had written it on the machine, I would have used cashless payment at reception. What a shame. It seems that the men's and women's baths are on a rotating basis. Today, the men's bath was Hotaru, and the women's bath was... what was it called? It wasn't Hotaru. Shoe lockers are located in the changing room. There are no keys, but there are numbered tags like the ones you get when you leave your shoes at a cloakroom. There are also lockers for valuables in the changing room. 100 yen return shipping is required. The lockers are small, so it's a good idea to use the laundry baskets for towels and change of clothes. There is a water dispenser in the changing room. The washing area is set up on a curved wall like a maze, so it's hard to tell exactly how many there are, but I think there are around 10. The shower heads are installed alternately with new and old ones, and the newer ones have gentle water pressure. The older ones have much stronger water pressure and spray hot water over a wide area, so you need to be considerate of the people next to or behind you when using them. Rinse-in shampoo and body soap are provided. The indoor baths include the main bath, electric bath, jet bath, rock bath, hot water, cold bath, and sauna. The water was slippery and very pleasant. There was what appeared to be an open-air bath outside the window, but the water had been drained and it was unusable. It might not be an open-air bath but a pond.

This is a hot spring resort nestled in a quiet mountain area. The facility is a well-balanced building, combining the warmth of wood with the crispness of concrete. A small stream flows from a pond near the entrance through the building and then along a walkway leading to the hot spring, creating the atmosphere of a high-class ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). The hot spring water, also used for rinsing off, was very warming and gentle on the skin. The sauna was spacious, with a television directly in front of you, allowing you to relax and watch. The cold plunge pool was just the right temperature, and there were several chairs nearby, making it very comfortable.

All the hotels were full, so we found this one by chance. It was a cheap price for two adults and one elementary school student, including breakfast and dinner, so we didn't have high expectations, but the food was delicious and we were very satisfied, and the hot springs were amazing!! We were full to the brim. The room was a little small, but we'd love to stay here again. Definitely a repeat visit! Next time, we'd like to stay on the first floor with an indoor bath. There aren't any convenience stores nearby, so it might be a good idea to buy drinks and food with you.

After visiting Cape Toi, I used the hot springs. Price: 500 yen. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided. Free hair dryers are available. The hot spring water had a smooth, slippery feel, and my skin felt very smooth after getting out. There were various types of baths, and chairs were placed throughout, making it easy to rest. It was a shame there was no open-air bath. There was also a rest room, which allowed me to relax after my bath, and I was very satisfied.

The water is smooth and has a nice balance of hot and lukewarm water. They also have a variety of baths, including Zett, which is very satisfying. It's open from 7am. We stopped by on our way to Cape Toi. If you're heading in the right direction, I highly recommend using it.
