According to the notice, the hot spring water is hypotonic, weakly alkaline, and low in temperature, 31.1°C, pH 8.2, heated, circulated, filtered, and disinfected with chlorine. The analog pH test paper I brought with me showed a pH closer to 8, ranging from 8-9. It seems that chlorine disinfection protects the source water from damage. I didn't notice a strong chlorine smell. The large bath had a standard atmosphere, with one indoor bath and one outdoor bath, and nothing particularly special. For dinner, I enjoyed the Omi Shun Kaiseki Takumi course and various beef dishes. The beef was of higher quality than the buffet in the West Wing and was easy to eat. I had tomatoes at the salad buffet for the first time in a while (lol). For breakfast, there were many locally sourced dishes, including fresh locally grown vegetables, milk delivered in cans, mini Omi beef hamburgers, and curry. The mini hamburgers made with mini hamburgers and the rolled omelet made right in front of me were particularly delicious (especially since the rolled omelet at breakfast buffets usually comes frozen and packaged). This time, as it was a special campaign plan, it included one drink at dinner and a 500 yen coupon for the convenience store, and it was also over 3,000 yen cheaper than usual, which is the same price as the buffet plan in the West Wing, so it was a very satisfying stay.

This hotel had a great view of Lake Biwa. There was a baby bath in the women's large public bath, but when I asked about it at check-in, I was told that babies were not allowed in the hot spring, so I just took a shower. Is it okay to use the baby bath? There were a lot of elderly guests, so it might not be suitable for families with children. Oh, and there were no foreigners. The breakfast buffet kicked us out right on time (usually, they take the food away when the time is right, but I think you can take your time to eat what you've brought home). I'm not sure if they had baby chairs or not, but they didn't call out to us, so we couldn't use them. There was a partial buffet for dinner, so we were able to fill up. However, perhaps due to a staff shortage, we had to wait a long time before we were seated. The hot spring was not particularly distinctive. It was neither good nor bad, and it made me feel a little warm. I liked that the sauna was open throughout the hot spring's operating hours. There were two elevators, but they were slow. The staff were kind. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

The lakeside hotel has a lot going for it, but during our summer stay, the number one thing was the breakfast and dinner buffets. Traveling with a child with a limited palate to a rural area can pose meal time dilemmas, but Kyuukamura took care of that 100%. The Omi Beef was the star, but other dishes were plentiful and solid. The stunning lake views from the dining room was a bonus. We also enjoyed do-it-yourself fireworks by the lake, which was included in our package, and thoughtful touches such as the Lakes Biwa drinking water in our room and free yard game rentals. There is no night time lounge/bar area, but plenty of seating in the lobby area for reading, etc. The lake beach is clear and shallow for a long while, making it safe for kids. There are limited on when the beach is open, both seasonally and on a daily basis. The hotel is older but well maintained, and our room was comfortable with no allergy issues for our family. It really would be perfect if they had a ping pong table!

Stayed on a weekday in December 2025. The authentic Omi beef Takumi course was so delicious I'd love to return! I went to the bath immediately after checking in, but the bath and changing room were quite crowded. After dinner, I went back to the bath, but this time it was empty. The level of congestion varies greatly depending on the time of day. From what I could see at the dinner and breakfast venues, there seemed to be dozens of guests staying that day, but they seemed to be all Japanese! The nature around Lake Biwa and the atmosphere of the mostly Japanese guests were calming and very pleasant. I was able to relax.

This vacation village has a wonderful view of Lake Biwa. The exterior, interior, and guest rooms are typical of a vacation village, and show some signs of age, and the TVs are small. The food was delicious both in the evening and in the morning. The Omi beef was so good that I bought a sukiyaki set as a souvenir. The large public bath is open from 5am, and there is an indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna (the sauna is open from 3pm to 11pm). The open-air bath with a view of Lake Biwa was amazing.
