Mamushi Spa

Mamushi Spa is a nice little getaway to take a dip in a bath and relax. I’ve been several times, the regular public bath portion is pretty nice with a variety of outdoor baths to try. On the most recent trip, my partner and I booked a family bath. You have to call to reserve the bath, so you’ll need probably need to speak Japanese. You might be able to get a family bath upon arrival, however, so ask at reception when you arrive. I’ve seen some of the staff communicating in English, but communication is often easier in person than on the phone. Weekdays aren’t terribly busy, weekends are fairly packed with families. The family bath is a little on the small side though, that would be the only slight negative, especially if you are coming with your children to share a bath. We made an evening of it with a bath and dinner at the restaurant they have there. It’s good value for some generous dinner sets. We ordered the tempura set and were very satisfied with the serving size, freshness of the ingredients and the taste.

Nice public bath in Iitoshima. It sells local produce and has various fish on in tanks and even a newt. The key system is good, no coin lockers instead you give your shoe locker key in at reception and get given a locker key for the bath area. The baths are nice with two large indoor baths one with a jacuzzi and and there is also a Sauna. Outdoors there are many smaller baths, one smelling of green tea another for red wine and a number of others so good variety. The showers have shampoo and body wash provided. Nice atmosphere and it seems quite busy.

Very good 5 outdoor onsen and nice pools inside. Clean and just right size. 7.2 - 7.4 pH level alkaline water that's therapeutic with amazing cold pool that literally heals your soreness away. Also has an amazing salt sauna with one of the highest quality salt that I've seen around this region. The outdoor pool changes content from ginger, wine, flower, sake, etc each month! The first time, I wasn't so impressed, but the more I visit, more I realize what a gem this Onsen really is. It's becoming one of my favorite Onsen.

My family and I visited this hot spring twice! It was very local, so we loved it!! outdoor hot spring was cute and nice. it was small but nice! and the food at restaurant inside is also good. I would love to visit here again! but you need a car to visit here! I saw two cars with the hot spring name on, I think they are shuttles. if you speak Japanese, you can call them and ask if they can pick you up from train station!

Unique spa (onsen) in the Itoshima area. It has variety of baths including interesting types such as wine-bath and sake-bath. This place is characterized by slightly cooler water compared to regular Japanese spa. One can spend 20-30 minutes in outdoor bath relaxing and not feeling hot. Also this is good for children who cannot stand hot water.
